[OOC] I thought more like this: but with a larger base. Plus, the back side of this seems to go down perpendicular to the bases, while I imagined it as having the same angle as the rest.

Cylonea looks quite worried and sad: the underground never suited her, and the claustrophobic situation with the addition of tainted and limited air supply is really disturbing her.
I should think more about the symbols and a way to make the arcane device slide the walls and open some kind of passage, but I can't help thinking that the Air symbol up there... Might mean true AIR for us...
"... People..." - She faintly and timidly addressed them - "... Do you think it's a bad idea to try and find a passage... upwards? Maybe the Air symbol is there to indicate a source of air, a secret passage... Hoist, could you try and go up there to knock on the surface and try to guess if there's solid rock beyond it... Or air? I could let you fly up, but you should then secure your position with your hook..."
[OOC] GM, do you think it's possible to attempt this? And how? Have we understood the form of the room, do we still have to explore some corners? And what was the effect of the light-draining on the Light spell casted by the Pyromancer?

Sigg"Maybe it's simpler than that." Sygg pulls a water bottle from his supply pack, opens it and splashes some water onto the water symbol.

Hoist
[OOC] I like Sigg's idea! If Cylonea can help me up there, I can secure myself with a hook and breathe on the rune. I can remain secured if we need to do all the symbols at the same time!Hoist is inspired by Sigg's action. He asks Cy to float him up, where he will secure himself to the top and breathe on the air rune. "Depending on the reaction, or not, we see maybe we should try to coordinate actions to interact with each rune at the same time." With Cylonea's whispered words, forgotten as quickly as they are uttered, Hoist glides upward. Secures his hook and line (ahtletics check 25)! And breathes on the rune for air. Hoist waits expectantly for something to happen... [OOC] I hope this works...
Inconsistency and procrastination...in practice.

[OOC] Gamma Mage got it right. Height should be little less than 10 squares, base sides around 4 each.
About the flying attempt... you know, everything is possible. Hooks are a good idea, though. Flying ones should try an Athletics check... if Cylonea wants to help, it should be through an Arcana check.
No effect may be noticed (yet) from the runes' light absorption quality.
Water splashed on the water symbolon and air breathed onto the air one have no effect that you can perceive.
Want a little help? I'm using the word symbolon instead of symbol for a reason.

www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/zendika...[OOC] Whoa, it gets trickier by the minute... Master, we used my racial power for flight, Hoist and me can now fly "until the end of the next turn". It wasn't such a good idea since I'm not useful flying, I guess, and Hoist can fly at-will in a limited area like this, with his racial power (forgot about it!)"Hoist, try and guess if the ceiling hides something as I said!" - this is not the right way, I'm such a fool under these circumstances...
Cylonea hums in a melodic way and connects with the elements to ensure her mind will not trick her again.
Cyl' uses Speak With Spirits to get a +4 (Wis mod) bonus to her next Arcana check.
Arcana check... SIXTEEN + SEVENTEEN = THIRTY-THREE, 33 (link new window)
She flew slowly around the cramped space and under the air symbolon with an alien grace, proper to a being born in the water, inspecting the arcane devices while surrounded by motes of elemental energy...

Unnamed pyromancer"Alright. Threader, I like your idea of coordinating our actions: we can act just like before, same coordination. Only without failing like ****es." The muscled mage starts to ignite sparks from his hands while getting close to the Fire symbolon.
Uses Psionic Spark (ignites objects) cantrip on the fire symbolon, while touching it and trying to see if it moves.
"If this doesn't work, you better get out of the way 'cause I'll try bigger flames..."
Also tries a History check to see if he can remember about similar devices described in literature he studied: 31!! (link new window)

[OOC] With the DM's approval...
The newly formed party's members start to literally understand their place. Without even discussing it, they go each to "their" element. Hoist was already up near the Air symbolon, the pyromancer was already at the Fire symbolon, while Cylonea and Sigg naturally went for Water and Earth. The first to talk was the pyromancer: "It's not reacting to fire, it's giving me warmth instead." - He ceased to force fire magic onto the symbolon and started feeling the sensation it gave to him. The others were already feeling the strangely beautiful sensation. Hoist felt a cool breeze throughout his body. Cylonea felt moisture as if she had entered in a pool. Sigg felt slightly immobilized as if half-buried in the sand. Few beats later, Cylonea silently called her elemental companion, nearly as if she wanted to let it know about this strange elemental device, but more because she felt the need of his presence in all of this. She placed it with a thought in the middle of the room, with its wisps of energy nearly caressing each of the four adventurers. The moment felt special for an instant, and...

... then, without any warning, the light invoked by No-name flickered, its duration about to expire. Just when he was about to renew it, everyone noticed that the runes remain bright, at least bright enough to still see them in the dark.
In fact, the runes seem to dance around the corners, like getting themselves through the walls.
Now if they could just understand why are these symbola in here, and what do they mean, they could figure out a way out.
Being elements, and producing each one some sort of particular elemental effect by touching them, maybe their order would be important.
[OOC] Thanks for the chat summary, Mr. Archaon. Since the little triangular (prysmatic, as a matter of precision) room is symmetrical, I'll just give you the order clockwise; there's no first nor last. Air being above, around you are Earth, Fire and Water. Bringing a little flame to the Fire Symbolon (or a breath to the Air one), a lá Fifth Element, is logical. Won't say no more until you need it.
