This had to be wrong. Like really wrong. The runes in the walls should be easily translated with the glyphbook they had gotten from the Order, but nothing on it made sense.
Just an hour ago, Hoist had just made their the way up into the temple top, and the rest of the party followed through with his help. After a very long corridor which spiralled down for several miles, they reached a wall with some kind of clockwork seal, which they easily opened twisting it both clockwise and counterclockwise, the ancient Five way Cylonea knew so well.
The darkness fought back their torches' light, daring to snuff'em out any moment. They kept walking, looking for any sign on this Khalni Gem they were searching. They were just thinking about how will they find a single gem in this enormous structure. Was it important enough to make it a feature in here? That would be good to know. The little they knew, thanks to Sigg, was that it wasn't supposed to be here anyway.
And, in the middle of all, suddenly their lights went dead. When they managed to turn them on again, they were surrounded on walls, all forming some sort of triangle room around them. All the runes in them were surreal, too curved for any language they understood, all of them united in a single weird pattern around the well known symbols for Earth, Fire and Water in each wall.
[OOC] Damn, how I love these starting points from which then we all see some "X hours ago" scenes. Well, I don't know really if you like to start "in media res", so if you don't feel comfortable, we can start again all over.
Anyone who wants, give me Arcana, Athletics, Endurance and Nature checks; Everything else, must be explained and described... if you need to know, this is a skill challenge.

www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/zendika... Hoist steps up to the “walls” and examines them closely to discover their origin or what they are made of; also for any cracks, lines, seams, or any place they could be moved or pried with a hook. (maybe even some method of opening them). Nature Check: 27 (d20 roll:12, Nature skill:+15) [OOC]: I will register at invisible castle soon. But for now, can I post a few rolls on the honor system?

Cylonea"I should have known that returning to civilization would have brought only problems, the glyphbook is probably a fake!" Cylonea quickly tries to calm herself and focus on the problem... Her eyelids stretch and widen rhythmically in front of the strange phenomenon.
"Some kind of magic is at work here... The patterns seem distorted by something..." This is the time to remember the most advanced classes I had taken before leaving the Halimar. Is my father watching me... Now..? Arcana check: 14+13=27! (link)

SiggLisha the wolf raises her hackles and growls softly at the walls. Her eyes dart back and forth, unable to locate an actual threat. Sigg places a hand on her head to soothe her, but she remains upset. Sigg's eyes light on the earth rune. He tries to concentrate what is real, his limbs and branches, his scimitar, Lisha's fur under his hand. He sends calming thoughts towards the wolf, trying to dispel imaginary threats from both his mind and hers.Endurance Check: 11+11=22 (link)

(Success!) Hoist notices some kind of moss at the wall joints, in a very thin green line. Following the runic patterns, he estimates that he should be able to climb with some difficulty due more to lack of space than to the walls themselves. Nonetheless, he can't see up more than a few feet, so he can't determine height either. Last time he saw the room, though, it looked very high. Besides all this, as long as Hoist can recall, Khalni Gems are found at Ora Ondar, not even near this location at Tazeem.
(Success!) Concentrating in the runes, Cylonea can determine they are somehow absorbing the light, as if recharging themselves. The harder she looks, the weirder the patterns become, making her feel uneasy.
(Roughly a success...) On its own, Sigg quickly estates that the symbolon for air is not only not shown... but that air itself might become a problem if they do not get out soon. Not minutes-soon, but soon enough. Lisha seems to corroborate this by smelling, at the same time that Cylonea, something caustic in the air. Suddenly, clothing their noses seemed a good idea.
[OOC] Could we link the die rolling as a new window link from now on?

Unnamed Murasa Pyromancer(Casts Light on his staff, securing it on his back...) "Well well well... Hey tall girl, give me a hand here!" Vigorously asks for Cylonea's help to start a climb with its own hook, cocking his head towards Hoist as if saying "let's go". Cylonea uses Aid Another to help the Pyromancer make an Athletics check
ROUGHLY SUCCESS!! 12 (DC:10+half level of Pyromancer = 12) - link to new window
Cylonea didn't even have the time to explain she wasn't strong enough to lift the muscled pyromancer: he literally climbed her to reach the first hand-grab! She was happy to see she could do it, but felt quite angry with the just-met stranger...
Athletics check of the Pyromancer: 14 (3+11... +2 from Aid Another = 16) - link to new window
[OOC] Ouch... Don't think that's enough..! :o - my friend is going to kill me! :D

Hoist en-Kor (new window) "Here, let me show you how to climb..." Attaching silk line to hook, Hoist begins the task of scaling the wall. He will plant pitons at intervals to make it easier for the companions to follow him, but cautions them to wait for his signal to do so. He doesn't know if he may have to change paths suddenly, and it would be time-consuming to have everyone start over.
(Athletics check 17) link in new window[OOC] That is, I hope I can show you how to climb ;-)

[OOC] Sorry guys, but you all are such a...
(FAIL!) After an almost disturbing plumetting to the floor, Hoist manages to stay over a feet above the rest of the party, practically hanging on his hook. Though he has no torch in his hand, he sees something on the walls top.
(Passive Perception score high enough)
The walls looked like the slided down from the top to the floor, and in the triangle they left above, there's the symbolon for "air", runes expanding from it towards the sides and the other three symbolons.
Looking down, he sees no symbol on the floor, though.

[OOC] Guys, I think we need to do some OOC consulting among us! The situation looks difficult... From what I understand, we're trapped in what seems to be the sliding-walls top of the Stargate pyramid-starship, but in this case it's a triangular pyramid instead of normal quadrangular one. I thought the room was tall enough to hide some kind of exit point above, and I was going to enable flying for us to reach the top, but it seems that the top is just the summit of the pyramid, even if it's maybe truncated... And on that top surface, we got the symbol of air. We're very probably trapped inside a puzzle. An Insight check MIGHT help us understand something, or maybe a pure Int check. But I think we better try to understand the puzzle ourselves! My first idea is that the Air symbol might indicate a fresh air source... But I don't know if it's wise to try and tear apart the ceiling... A lot of material may collapse onto ourselves! So... What do you think? What strategy shall we adopt? First of all, @Veritatis, did I understand the geometry of the room? Trinagular base, high and possibly flat and also triangular ceiling? Some dimensions?
