Well now here we are all again facing the adventure known to us as Christmas. I dont know about many of you but once again seeming out of the fog of the year, Christmas managed to get initiative and surprise. My defenses are surely down this year. Perhaps it is all the illusions of red and white, mistletoe, and elves - but these are not my elves, my elves have bows and swords not tack hammers. But alas the illusion is almost complete that in someway this time of year is differnt than another time of year marked not by the season but instead by mystical transformation - perhaps it is not...

ALL I hope you find game time albeit roleplay, Larp, or gulp even MMO's. I am a firm believer that the skills gained by letting your imagination go via RPG will reap rewards later in differed experience points... Friendships, creativity, a little acting cred, and interaction with others. Lets face it the gaming community is one of the most accepting of differences of any and as we move into the plural age of globalism that will be important. So find some friends and while I am a little discouraged honestly with the 4th Ed. I can still work it and can still have some fun,...

The smell was of the sweetest thing he had ever smelled to date, filling him with a hunger he felt as if he would never quench. It also caused a thirst – his mouth dry needing to drink in and devour all he saw before him. The sight of the towers, gardens, orderly streets at the same time maddened him to the point of almost leaving him without focus. The air was cool and crisp and it almost made his scales crawl to the point of tearing at them. The sword in his hand a gift from his master was set to conceal him and help him penetrate the powerful magic of this horrid place –...

She was amazing, perhaps the best of us all, and he had been given the opportunity to be her companion these past 206 years.  Her abilities were unmatched not just because of the power she could wield but because of her creativity. Yes if any of us could or wished to be thought of as a God it should be her for her beauty or for magic.  She was a gift to him to all of us. Gods indeed, what some think of us as, he thought, the orcs, goblins, giants, some humans and it was these times that called for us to take charge. But by their nature and laws the Mysteryarchs could not make...

Slanasta toiled over the manipulation of the energies that would be involved. The strain was almost too much to take. Her very being and soul being manipulated in the process, she was on the edge of reality and blurred into the unknown. She had walked this path before but now there was a greater presence. High Isle had been a bastion of safety and the ability to walk the edges of the planes a gift for her and her kind. Now the strain and pushes and pulls of recent events caused many of the Mysteryarchs to use their energies to defend High Isle. The need to defend their home is...

Hisles a snapshot.... In the beginning there was only light and darkness. The essence of magic and elements mixed, swirled, and sundered at the creation of the realm which formed the vary elements, air, land, and seas. The material realm of Hisles consisted of islands floating on the astral sea each surrounded by an essence of the ethereal plane. Those beings that were formed at creation divided into three different areas, those infused by the magic, learned to use or harness the magic and those strongly unaffected by the magic. In each of these were assorted beings, races, and...
I guess since I took some 13 years off of gaming because of not being close enough to my established gamer friends or meeting new ones it should be easy to revert back to not gaming. And ya know I am busy and life is crazy, I feel like a one armed juggler on most days. But Not so, I do miss it. In truth only running a campaign about every other week was easy and fun. Getting to play in a campaign about the same, every other week was fun. But it was a good outlet for a stressed out guy and a good outlet to hang out with my now 14 year old son. So I miss it. So now I toy,...

Has it been too long, am I too busy, too old, too broke, have too many responsibilities - the answer is HELL YES! But all the more reason, its time to play. I still run things from time to time for my son and his friends and indeed my world of Hisles is further taking shape thanks to my time with them and in creating further areas and histories for players to explore. It also helps when you drive 12 hours straight over the holidays with sleeping kids in the car. How do I entertain myself - creating the mythos behind the mercenary halls in my little world. Otherwise glad to be getting...

Just signed up as a member on Meet Up for the Camel City Gamers. The crowd that is drawn to the euro and german board games are usually a cool set of people. So I signed myself up and may indeed, if my BUSY schedule permits, attend. I do also like the fact that the age limit is 18. While I am trying to build back up some interested in gaming and RPG's that are move people from infront of the computer and face to face, for ages say 11 and up, this will be a good group of people to meet - I hope. So take a look around. I do think this crowd, gamers etc, are good accepting and...
