So I'm doing a little bit of cube-cleaning in preparation for a move to another row. This is a little bit harrowing, since (like many editors) I am a pack rat and more than a little OCD-ish in the keeping of old things. The stack of paper thrown out so far was taller than me.
(Pause here for obligatory heckling. Yes, I am that short.)
In all honesty, the truly terrifying thing about this cube move is having to move all my action figures. When we moved to this building a couple of years ago, I had second choice among the RPG group for cube picks. (Rich Baker has seniority on me by a couple of months, so he got the corner with all the windows. I think he regrets it a little bit in summer, when his cube overheats.) True Fact: I chose my cube partly because it was at the back of the row and quiet, but mostly because it had a table that I could use for action figure display. It is very important to my working morale to be able to glance over and see that the army of Nightwings, Black Canarys, and Batgirls (plus many others) has my back.
Andy Collins suggested we commandeer the department to form a bucket brigade to move them all. He only thinks he was kidding.
Right, the treasure part. In going through a long-unrummaged drawer, I found a fortune in old TSR memorabilia. Among the saved and precious manuscripts are printouts of the never-published City of Doors and City of Sin projects. Even better? A huge pile of photocopies of original Planescape concept art. Best? The complete manuscript for the unpublished Planescape: Unity of Rings comic book, which--man, we were all so disappointed when it got canned, because it was a super-cool comic with great art and a storyline the whole Planescape team really got into. I've even got a page of the original comic art and no, you can't have it.
The moral can't be that I should clean out my cube more often, so I'll go with the smug knowledge that all some of that saved STUFF does, in fact, have a purpose. Even if it's just reliving past glories, I call it good.

Is there ANY way that the manuscripts for City of Doors and City of Sin can see the light of day? Even as downloads on DDI?
