My ProfileAbout Me
About Me:
I started working at TSR as an editor in 1981, and I've been hanging around ever since. Currently I'm the D&D Community Coordinator (or something like that--I've never put much stock in titles), which means that I get to hang with fans on the forums, Facebook, and Twitter, and keep the channels of communication open between them and the company.
Movies:
My favorite film is The Wild Bunch. Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull was the 2nd-best entry in the series, IMHO. Apparently that makes me something of a pariah in certain quarters ...
TV Shows:
Burn Notice is the only TV show I make time for. Yeah, I'm one of those insufferable "TV ... I don't watch TV" types.
Books, Comics and Graphic Novels:
I was and still am a huge fan of what I consider the "golden age" of Marvel Comics -- ie, Spider-Man, the Hulk, Cap'n America, and the Avengers from when I was a kid. I still read comics if they land in front of me, but I stopped buying them when my enjoyment was overshadowed by annoyance at paying $5.50 for something that takes me five minutes to read.
And I still say that Starstruck is the greatest graphic novel of all time.
Music:
More curmudgeonly raving -- I don't own an ipod and I don't buy much music. It's not that I dislike what "the kids these days" are listening to, but I'd rather listen to the radio (and internet radio) with its ever-changing playlist than the same things over and over. Check out Little Steven's Underground Garage!
Wizard Book Lines:
Dark Sun
Other D&D
Hobbies:
Duh.
Likes:
Now I feel like a Playboy Playmate listing my turn-ons, and that's just creepy.
Dislikes:
Rude people ... people who are mean to animals ... and, uh, poverty!
My Games:
Betrayal at House on the Hill
Diplomacy Dungeons & Dragons Star Wars miniatures
Other Games I Play:
I'm a big-time miniatures gamer with an emphasis on Victorian-era colonial battles (Zulu War, Boxer Rebellion, that sort of thing). The Sword & the Flame is my favorite set of miniatures rules. Of course, I also love Axis & Allies Miniatures for WW2, and I'm getting more and more into War at Sea. I used to play lots of wargames, especially the big SPI "monster games" that took six players three months to play, but it's tough to find people with the time and inclination for that anymore. I'm a big fan of the Savage Worlds RPG from Pinnacle Entertainment because of its simplicity and quick play. My favorite boardgame is Kingmaker. Two Hour Wargames is another favorite publisher with what I call the "Chain Reaction" family of games -- CR 3.0, 5150, and Warrior Heroes. But basically, I'll play whatever gets slapped down in front of me.
