Wiki and Data Backups

Yesterday we experienced a problem with the wiki section of our community software. No wiki content was displaying when links were clicked. The vendor running the community platform responded quickly and was able to correct the problem and restore the wiki. While we are pleased with the response, it’s a good reminder that unexpected problems do occur and it’s a good idea to always back up your content in another location. We are continually impressed with the amount and quality of content produced on our site, and want to make sure that your hard work is protected against any unforeseen problems.

Blog Commenting Update

Tomorrow, July 25th, there will be an update to the blog commenting system. The new commenting will have the same features and UI as the commenting widget on D&D articles (example here www.wizards.com/dnd/Article.aspx?x=dnd/4...)

The new commenting interface allows you to reply to individual comments. Existing comments will be preserved.

Our login system will be down for server maintenance on the morning of Wednesday, July 18th between 3:00 AM and 8:00 AM Pacific. The community.wizards.com site will be up, but you will not be able to log in to post content or access restricted groups. This outage is for server maintenance only; no site changes will be made.

This maintenance window also impacts other Wizards sites and services, including:

• Wizards.com websites (Including wizards.com/magic and wizards.com/dnd - they will not be viewable during this time)
• D&Di Tools
• D&Di Rules Compendium
