I assume WotC does indeed back up the wiki themselves. The problem is that this backup probably occurs nightly, so you could make a post and the system explode before the backup occurs. So 90% of the time what you post is probably safe and going to be backed up by WotC themselves. The problem would be when you post something and the backup doesn't occur until later or the entire system experiences some huge event (hackers/virus/whatever).
