Chapter 20 (27th of June 2012)

541 of the 5th Age, Ravenday 24th of Arcadan

Having survived the traps that sat in the catacombs under the Zanfalcon Castle, Team Mable finally saw light at the end of the tunnel. They approached closer and closer seeing a large Hall opening up at the end of the hallway but also seeing 2 hairy arms waiting at the end of the hallway in the Hall.
Trying to sneak up from behind but failing the Bugbears at the end turned and attacked but were easily defeated. The Wizard in charged called for the traps to be activated and for reinforcements to be called, the group stayed in the shadows of the hallway yelling out insults and demands. This soon brought the attention of Norkas Iceblood, Leader of the Zanfalcon Dissent.
Along with Norkas came one of Urafan's lieutenants who had come to try and broker an alliance between the Zanfalcon Dissent and the Followers of Urafan. Some more insults were thrown while the group continued to hide in the hallway. But soon it was revealed that Urafan's Lieutenant was Bejik Vuthaner, Zalea's older brother.
The group talked with Norkas and Bejik until nothing else could be said. Zalea charged in and killed 2 of Bejik's minions at his feet. This sparked a great battle with a large number of Zanfalcon warriors dying at the end of the hallway. Using this battle as a distraction Buckle took the chance and snuck away, leaving his team mates to face this battle on their own.
The group fought on spouting insults at their enemy until Bejik's forces were no more. with this Bejik charged in and attacked Zalea, taking a bite out of her so fierce that it would definitely leave a scar when healed.
Zalea took the chance to try and talk to Bejik. After seeing how powerful she was he offered her a chance to talk. Getting Norkas to stop attacking her and leading her away from the main battle. Bejik offered Zalea a chance to join him, help him defeat Urafan, lay waste to the the Island of Stohana and help lead Urafan's forces against Empress Trisatris.
Mean while Norkas has his army still press the attack against the others of the group. In came charging one of Norkas's bugbears who ran past Norkas, swung his morningstar over his head and brought it straight down on Lezore with so much force that it shattered the stone floor under her and dealing a fatal blow against Lezore.
Bejik made Zalea a deal that if she could prove that they are more powerful then the Zanfalcon Dissent by killing Norkas then he may consider joining them to help defeat Trisatris. Zalea joined the battle but with the Zanfalcon Dissent forces taking their toll she soon fell unconscious. Being pinned in a corner by Norkas's forces Maritimus grabbed Eternity and fey stepped away from the corner but only to soon fall as well.
With everyone else unconscious or dead and Eternity herself restrained she called out one name, Spindletop.
Everyone in the room seemed to freeze and Spindletop appeared. Eternity then asked Spindletop what it would take to have Norkas killed? Spindletop gives her a choice. Choose one of your team mates or yourself. That person's life will be mine to take when I choose to take it. Agree to this and I will give you the power to kill Norkas Iceblood.
Eternity offered herself for the deal and with that Zalea, Maritimus and Lezore all stood back up. They all felt revived as if they had just woken up from a long relaxing rest.
As they all stood up coming down a hallway off to the side of Entrance Hall was 2 figures. As they got closer ther 2 figures appeared to be the Warforged Buckle and the Deva Brom Astralkin.
Brom threw a tied up Garth Boltree to the floor and yelled out "Norkas Iceblood, I will make you pay".

Memorable moments:

• Eternity convinced Norkas that she was the daughter of Kaisaris
• Eternity used a combination of her flute and pixie dust to draw most of Norkas's forces into the hallway where she set off a trap.
• When Norkas finally stepped into view Maritimus hit him with spell after spell after spell.
