Chapter 1 (5th February, 2012)

541 of the 5th Age, Aureday 12th of Arcadan

Our story began on a night in the Dead Pony Pub in Arborshate, where several Adventurers were relaxing after a long trip. Here we have:

Brom Astralkin(Jay), a Deva Avenger sitting in a dark corner silently watching the crowd.
Eternity(Jess), a Gnome Sorcerer enjoying a drink with one of the local villagers.
Theren(Terry), an Elf Ranger admiring some of the mugs this pub uses and wondering how well they smash on people's heads.
Maritimus(Glen), an Eladrin Wizard having a drink and wondering why none of his powers currently work.
Faramir(Richard), a Human Ranger watching the room minding his own business.
Taral(Lauren), a Half-Elf Rogue enjoying her mead allot more than anyone else in the pub.
Alandra(AJ), a Longtooth Shifter Shaman wearing practically nothing and standing near the fire to get warm.
And Autian(Glenn), a Goliath Sorcerer, a local, the bouncer of the Dead Pony and friend of Thoster Urthadar the head of the town’s law enforcement(as appointed by the Ruling Class of Glimmergaunt).

With the Villagers all on edge from recent attacks in Arborshate they are skeptical about any outsiders. Because of this one of the Villagers tried to pick a fight with Faramir(Richard). Theren(Terry) saw Faramir being hassled and decided to throw his mug at the villager. This mug missed and shattered on the wall but started a brawl. The Villager's Girlfriend jumped on the table to help him.
Autain(Glenn) decided to step in and try to stop the girl but she was able to dodge him easily but stayed on top of the table. Meanwhile Taral(Lauren) decided to try and sneak up on the Villager but having consumed a large amount of alcohol, stumbled across and tripped on her own feet, bumping into Autain, the Bouncer. She told him she really wasn't that drunk and Autain believed her. Maritimus(Glen) didn't like where he was, as the fight had broken out on the table he was sitting at. He decided to try and get away from it all, but with his every way blocked by fights was stuck to try and sneak under the table. Not paying total attention to where he was going he crawled straight into one of the table legs and hit his head, but then hid under the table deciding it was safer.
Alandra(AJ) stuck in the corner decided to flash the closest Local, drawing his attention and surprising him into shock. She then ran and sat on the bar eating pickled eggs and throwing them at people, hitting Taral square in the face with one. Faramir took a swing at the Villager that started it all and hit him square in the jaw. The Villager seemed a little dazed but still standing tall.
Brom(Jay) stepped in behind the Villager to try and calm him down but wasn't able to. Theren stole Eternity's(Jess) mug and threw it again at the Villager but missed yet again. Frustrated with this he picked up the chair next to him and took a swing at the townsman next to him. But once again he missed and smashed both the chair and the window he hit the chair with.
In all this commotion Eternity saw a chance to get into the storage room behind the bar and steal a keg of mead. She waited for the Bartender to jump the bar and have a go at Autain about not being able to stop the fight. Then Eternity ran into the storage room behind the bar and went to steal a keg. Unfortunately the keg was the same size as her Gnome self and someone else was already trying to steal the mead. This man hit Eternity and ran off with the keg. Faramir tried to get everyone to calm down but it fell on deaf ears.
Autain had managed to stop a dog from coming in and barking at all the commotion but after being yelled at by the Bartender decided to quit as the Bouncer. As Autain walked away the Villager's girlfriend, still standing on the table, took a swing at him which connected.
Taral still barely standing near Faramir, the Villager and the Villager's girlfriend took a swing at the girlfriend on the table. Unfortunately being allot more drunk then she admits swings wide, misses the girl but hits faramir in the back of the head. Faramir tried once again to get everyone to calm down and most listened this time except the Villager who started the fight and his girlfriend.
Eternity came out of the storage room and cried out "Free drinks for all" which the bartender begrudgingly agreed to so his pub would stop being trashed. As everyone started to calm down, Thoster Urthadar arrived.
Thoster being the person in charge of law enforcement in the town asked the adventurers to come with him. Autain came along as well being one of Thoster's long time friends. The adventurers pickup Taral off the floor and carry her back to Thoster's house.
As they went back to Thoster's residence he explained to the adventurers how the Villagers have been on edge recently to the increase of monster attacks and strange occurances in and around the village."Things like this use to only ever happen closer to the wall" he remarks.
Thoster explains how there are rumors of Werewolve type creatures setting up camp in a cave no more then a day's walk from Arborshate. He asks for the adventurers' help. Looking at Thoster and seeing how desperate he is the Adventurers all accept.Thoster provides all the adventurers with the gear they need. They decide to wait until morning to head off, giving Taral plenty of time to sober up for the quest ahead.
