Northern Strife Campaign

Taking place in TH 10057, this campaign is divided into two parts. The first part did not last long. The second is currently ongoing and takes place roughly 4 days after the end of the first part.

Bündchen Ambrosio

Bunchen AmbrosioBündchen's Biography
Bündchen's Diary: TH 10057, Boreaus 25
Dear Diary,
Today my cat, Kitty Purry, started to become sick. Yet, she is a mystical primal being! So I don't know why. Is she a reflection of my inner true self or an omen of my future?

I don't know, this may be the end of the beginning or something old and young. FYI Bug-lady is sick, but she still looks FIERCE!, like a boss. She doesn't "sick" like the rest of us. She has enclosed herself in a cocoon thing, yet this has been to our advantage. She has eye holes. We use her as a sled of sorts, to weigh upon our burdens, she slides will and comfortably. So far there have been no moans or groans from within.

Exsilliuslova

ExsilliuslovaExsilliuslova's Biography
Exsilliuslova's Personal Account: TH 10057, Boreaus 20
We are still in the sewers. We killed several orange ochre jellies and are continuing on our journey through the sewers searching for a group of creatures we know to have been through this area. This other group of people, we believe, have one of the scrolls we have been hired by Red Wolf to retrieve/find.

We see a creature down our path fighting some rats and we call to her. We talk to her (Bündchen), and she is looking for Ascher (a rat controller) to kill. Red Wolf has sent her to do this and she decides to join us. We encounter more oozes and then swarms of rats come ot from the sewers and surround us – we kill them. We climb down a rope through a swirling vortex of poo. When we get down, we see two room around this swirling vortex of poo. In the room to the North we see a room filled with hobo stuff. We see Ascher and he sicks his rat army on us. We fight, fight, fight, and fight some more. Many of us were near death, but eventually we killed the rats and Ascher.

We took the things we killed to the gnome Cabbage, who pays us decently for cleaning up the sewers. Each of us in the party receive 39 gold. Kossiss steals Bündchen’s share. Cabbage tells us the exact date the other adventurers went to the sewers. Cabbage asked the group of adventurers to confront Amiri for her. Because Amiri has recently been murdered, she thinks the group of adventurers did this. She tells us to go to Amiri’s estate in the Industry Steppe. We decide to spend the night in town at the Cliff’s Shadow Tavern.

Exsilliuslova's Personal Account: TH 10057, Boreaus 21
Two of our members realize they have come down with filth fever. Styrbjörn gets over his fever, but Kossiss is still feeling a little under the weather. Styrbjörn and Kithri tell us that Amiri is a huge merchant of this frigid town of Sjobo. We go to Amiri’s estate but before we get there we run into ten people. They come out of the shadows carrying maces. One man steps forward and tells us, “It’s your time to die.” We then engage in combat. We beat them to a pulp. When ravaging their corpses, we found 25 gold each and a note written in Dwarven. The note has a compass rose at the bottom right corner and we realize we just killed Jarric. Jarric was an assassin hired to kill us. The note was a parchment ordering our assassination. We wonder who could want us dead. Especially someone who knows Dwarven when Dwarves are the hated race around these parts. “Who has the motive?” asked Styrbjörn. Everyone else stays silent, not sure if Styrbjorn is hiding stuff from us; after all, he is the only one who has read the note.

We finally make our way to Amiri’s estate, keeping our eyes peeled for troublemakers who want us dead. At Amiri’s estate, we talk to lead investigator, Rennich. Rennich tells us Amiri was a good man and prominent trader. He invites us inside Amiri’s estate to have a look around. Inside the house, there are scorched paths all over the walls, furniture, and floor. Kithri finds a note in one of the floor boards in the study. The note is from a secret organization called the Order of the Diamond Rose. This note has the same symbol as the Dwarven note. It also indicates a dragon is coming! EEK.

Exsilliuslova's Personal Account: TH 10057, Boreaus 22
We spent the night in the Arse. We found out we need to travel to the underground from Rennich (the lead investigator in Amiri's death). We go underground and speak to Travin who sends us to kill Wassara. We go to kill Wassara only cut off his hand. We take his sword and return it to Travin. Travin says he will grant us an audience with Vennari.

One of Vennari's higher-ups, Trynna, says we must prove ourselves by fighting in their gladiator arena. We survive two arena battles and Trynna then says she will take us to Haazi. Trynna gives us gifts for beating their gladiators. Trynna then turns into Haazi. Haazi is who we've been looking for. She helped the people who stole our scrolls escape from prison and we want ANSWERS.

Haazi tells us she did help the group escape and she works for the Order of the Diamond Rose. The group we were looking for is in the excavation sites, says Haazi. Haazi also tells us this group took a shard of the Diamond Rose that Haazi wants. We agree to go after this other group of adventurers and retrieve the shard for her. She tells us to see Dietrich at the Military Steppe to get to the excavation site, but not to mention her name.

Exsilliuslova's Personal Account: TH 10057, Boreaus 23
- We find Lars to apply for excavation job.
- Job's closed.
- Find Dietrich (like I wanted to begin with!) We met with her. She gives us entry into excavation site.
- By the time we get there Jukavet tells us ice came out of walls and cut everyone up. We continue towards site.
- We fight ice creatures and win.
- We follow a trail of blood and run into more ice creatures. We kill them all.
- At end of hall there's a door with a symbol of the Raven Queen and rumbling behind it. She asks us riddles, we answer questions and the door opens to show a crystal on a pedestal.

Exsilliuslova's Personal Account: TH 10057, Boreaus 23 (continued)
The room is a blue aura of blue, wonderful, beautiful blue. The blue crystal emanates radiance...I WANT it. Snowflakes fall off the tips of the crystal. Around the crystal are blocks of blue ice and humanoid crystals are inside them!! Ack! We think the five blue ice frozens are the other group of adventurers. Styrbjörn touches the center crystal and it bursts energy that throws us back.

Everything gets misty(!!) and a creature emerges. The doors slam shut. I hit him with my lullaby throwing hammer and he gets slightly sleepy, yet he still lashes out at Styrbjörn and knocks him unconscious. The the lullaby finally works and he falls unconsciously asleep. His snoring is insane!! Almost scares us away, so Ulric attacks and all he does is cut off his toe. The "little guy" runs up and strikes with all his might. He really goes at it. Because the "little guy" did such a nice job, Neveah gets brave and does some damage (a little more than a toe is harmed). Luckily Bündchen sees Styrbjörn is hurt and goes to his rescue. Kithri then hits him. I want a piece of the action so I hit him with all I have and then run away. He wakes up right after and the crystal orb moves with him. The orb shoots at Ulric and Neveah. The fight continues...I give the killing blow, hitting twice just to be thorough. He dies thanks to our valiant effort and the crystal explodes, sending out radiant energy into all of us.

The humanoid auras come to life and their eyes glow red. They look as if they'll attack us. Of course we attack first! and they fire right back. During this fight, everyone does a good job fighting away, but I however am very tuckered out from our last encounter, so I don't really do a dang thing. I throw, stab, claw, and run but my heart's just not in it. I miss with just about every try only getting a lucky swipe now and then. The opponents see me as no threat and I go unnoticed throughout the majority of the fight. Until we have only one enemy left, then I charge her and try to tackle her. I fail, but Styrbjörn succeeds in tackling her to the ground. All the way to the floor and *boom* she's down! Then Ulric comes in and chops off her head!

All of the sudden the blue lights go out. It is pure dark until my group members take out their torches. We loot the room and find 38 gold for each of us and some documents. Ulric also gets four sapphires, so now we have five (one is with the "little guy".) The documents seem to be history of a WMD. This is telling us about the diamond rose, that we still need to piece together. Huh, so long ago we talked about that although it's only been a couple of days. We wander out of the cave and tell Jukavet of our ice men encounter. He tells us to go to Dietrich. We see her and she gives each of us 71 gold and asks us to fight for Sjobia. We decide to go to see Red Wolf after we sleep. It's been a very long day.

Exsilliuslova's Personal Account: TH 10057, Boreaus 24
I slept in the closet last night. I wake up to a laughing/screaming woman. It was quite disgusting of a noise. I decide to listen in the closet to figure out what's going on. Listening, I find out the there's a struggle going on and it's creatures like the "little guy". I open up the door to a room full of kobolds. God, their voices annoy me! It's like one of the prisoners in my old camp is being tortured by Strumpat (our best warrior) while breathing in one of our people's discoveries known to men as helium. I bust out the closet and half my group members are already fighting. I throw my hammer and kill one and then join Ulric in his fight against one of the evil little guys. We fight and kill. Unfortunately there was one casualty: the bar maid. We all kind of forgot about her. Oops, our bad. We get 25 gold and 11 silver.

The "little guy" looked out the window and saw... wait for it... a DRAGON!! and of course tons of kobolds. People are screaming and running. I get a flashback to our village being pillaged long ago. I was a wee bug about 4 or 5 when our village was attacked by weakling humans. We were a peaceful village back then, with no knowledge of war or other creatures. Only a few of us survived. I was lucky enough to be one of them. That's why I was such a disappointment to my culture. One of a few to survive this attack and I didn't live up to everyone's expectations. That's why I left. My culture shut us out from the world, focused only on fighting, and kept everyone different from us as POWs. I needed to know the world, and now I think I might have bit off more than I could pincer.

The "little guy" orders us to funnel the enemies into a bottleneck situation for easy picking. I'm unsure of taking orders from someone who is the same race as our enemies, but seeing as no one else has any ideas we'll see how it works. I will be keeping an eye on him. All the evil kobolds definitely have moon faces. A trademark of the draconic worshiper kobold clan I think. We WIN the fight!

We travel around town and look for investment opportunities. We buy a building in the Residential Steppe.

Neveah

NeveahNeveah's Biography
Neveah's Book of Recycled Ancestors: TH 10057, Boreaus 25
We just bought a house! Now we really are getting serious.

Now we are heading back to Red Wolf's cabin over the river and through the woods across the mountains. And snow. And the weather outside is frightful. We wandered in circles thanks to some stupid squirrels and nobody took maps and compass! (except Exsilliuslova)

Kitty Purry caught a megalothapus for us to eat! "Hey girl!" said Bündchen. She is such an uber awesome girl, I wish I had her bone structure...and bosom. Anyway she asked me about all this nature stuff but since I am nature incarnate, it felt like she was insulting me, but it's okay since she knows all the cool nature spirits. NOT! Mwahahaha

After 14 days we finally made it to Red Wolf's. We came across a halfling who attacked us. All but two of us standing at Death's door. I kill her with a lightning bolt! (Wait, actually she's just unconscious.) And then a red wolf howls in the background! He changes into a humanoid -- Red Wolf. The sagely shifter! We go back to his cabin.

He tells us a story of the History of Bottenhavet. This is the age of Threnos (10058 years). He trains each of us! For four months!

He gives me advice to calm the chaos to join a Druidic grove to prevent chaos. Bring companions. (Winter Whisper, Crashing Boulder, Fallen Leaves).

We wait for Phlydia to speak to the elders. Bündchen turns out is a low apprentice for Red Wolf. The fabled Oak Tree east of the cabin difficult to find. She has to journey alone to find it. He talks to the tree and it turns out it's a passage to the Feywild! The tree spirit calls itself Lestothiel.

Petru Makhoven

Petru MakhovenPetru's Biography

Petru's Journalbook: TH 10057, Boreaus 4
I single-handedly broke out of my prison cell today *mental note augment scarification*. A couple of fools decided to come along with me and they actually proved useful. A trio of them worship some god that is all about righteous valor, but I'd say any way that can get the job done is the correct way. Another is a shape-shifting-freak. This strange shape-shifting-freak has some sort of wolf fetish, maybe I can use that as leverage later... The other two seem to be friendly with each other: a fair-skinned wench and an oaf of a guard, well ex-guard now; the only reason why he's along probably is because he wants to lay beside her.

It seems that I will stay with this group for a while because I hear talk of an ancient treasure is some lost ruins. If this treasure really does exist, I will try to dupe it away from these doltish featherbrains.

More on this treasure later...

Petru's Journalbook: TH 10057, Boreaus 7
We delved into the ruins today. It was full of many beasties that I had to single-handedly wipe out. The damn Tempus fools were spouting their inane beliefs... and the shape-shifting-freak got to the treasure before I could. It was I who saved them from utter doom, and what credit do I get? None.

Sariel

SarielSariel's Biography

Sariel's Melodious Word: TH 10058, Greenlid 22
My name is Sariel, I am a travelling bard
In the beginning my parents, they made life pretty hard.
They didn't care much about what others thought,
And made them angry with us a lot.
We were forced to live all on our own -
My father, mother, and I, alone.
My mother was a wizard and father a ranger,
So we found our way easily and stayed out of danger.
I found I had talent with music and word play,
All was going as well as could be until one day -
Some villagers came that had a debt to be paid,
But we didn't have it and I was afraid.
They had caught my parents off of their guard.
Then they were gone forever and my life was scarred.

But enough of this story, yes it is sad,
But I've learned a lot from the troubles I've had.
Life is much easier when you think of others
And treat everyone else like sisters and brothers.
Thus I have devoted my life towards aiding
Those whose hope was gradually fading.
Boosting others' powers is my specialty
And I also can heal with my melody.
I'm only moderately skilled with my bow
So you can't count of me to kill things on my own.
To you all I'm indebted for rescuing me -
I'll be useful to you, I hope you can see.
They were going to kill me, I'm lucky you arrived -
Keep me around and I'll keep you alive.

Now how was I imprisoned by orcs, do you ask?
Well the druids in the area had given me the task
Of using my cunning and powers of song
To find why the connection to the Feywild was gone.
Especially important did this seem to me,
Since the Eladrin travelling to the Feywild is key.
So I set out not too long ago
To find the orcs with just my song and my bow.
And as it turns out, the orcs are a breed
In which powers of song aren't likely to succeed.
I don't know what hurt me more -
Their refusal to listen or being thrown on the floor
Of the cell I was in without my effects
Unable to escape, not sure what was next.

But alas, now I'm safe, and ready to return
To the orcs and alleviate the druids' concerns.
Whatever battles that may lie ahead,
Rest assured, only the orcs will be dead.
I will protect you with all of my might,
With me around, your futures are bright.
As a side note, monk, I'll be watching you,
For your actions were questionable but perhaps misconstrued
So don't hear me wrong, I'm of course on your side
But one wrong move and you'll wish you had died.
Thank you, everyone, for listening to my song,
But now we must really be moving along.
So here's to good travels and not getting stuck,
To good company, and most importantly - good luck.

Heroes & Traitors Campaign

This campaign starts SH 1310, Kendrix 30 in Augusthaven and has taken pause in Syk 30 in Boar Herpes.

Athena

AthenaAthena's Biography
Diary of Athena: SH 1310, Indril 17
Seeing all these beautiful statues along our journey has caused me to miss my nymph friends. I dream of seeing them again one day. Speaking of dreams, my kind allows me to never sleep but instead to sit in a trance, so therefore, I don't quite know what dreams are. And I don't quite understand how nobody else in our band except the robot has required sleep after so many days...

I sure could use some Eladrin food.

Diary of Athena: SH 1310, Mesnin 6
For the past month we have been traveling the seas on the Leaky Barnacle with Salty, a dwarf pirate with a wooden leg and a parrot named Pepper.

Our journey began exactly one month ago in Greenlid where we bought 5 camels and 10 waters in order to make it to Glockdunk Pass through the desert. The first night in the desert came with a surprise as AD 6464 was feeling ill. We awoke to a creature exploding out of his chest named Raegina, a female Githyanki. She claims she holds the memories of AD and joined our crew.

Upon our arrival to the Beoric Mountains, we met up with Shalach and an evil Githyanki called Akaron. After a long and fierce battle, Shalach ran off and we continued to Abrinax.

Abrinax was established in SH 1193 by a bunch of dwarves. Here we decided to spur of the moment buy a slave that looked like she otherwise was destined for some shady looking fellows. Her name is Shirlandra and she looks like a distant celebrity named something like Taylor Swift. However, she lacks any of the singing talent though. Apparently Shirlandra used to be of noble blood where she came from. She earns her keep cooking, cleaning and giving Raegina and I mani-pedi's.

We decided to head to Delia in order to find Ranzava's ancestral home and chose Salty as our captain. After a bit of shopping we set sail.

A few days later Salty said "Yar. A storm be brewing." and then an aspect of Dagon called a "Kraken" attacked us! Of course we won and continued on our way with a large casualty of the ship's crew. We then shipwrecked onto an island. We had fish for dinner and Raegina and I went wavestriding across the surface of the sea while we waited for the tide to rise.

We traveled for 7 days and finally came along the mainland. We battled the Treasure Ship and won after almost everyone nearly died. Somehow, Raegina was not hit at all even though she is our defender.

The next couple days we spent repairing the boat and finally we were on our way again and sailed to the Cape en route to Delia. After several days, "Land Ho!"

We saw a screaming boy and rescued him. The boy, Thear, lead us to his home where we addressed his father, Herbie, a fisherman, about Ranzava's great great grandpa's home.

The sewage on this island flowed between the homes in the back alley and were flushed twice a day. Disgusting. But efficient. The natives did not know much of foreigners and few ever left the island. I sense high levels of incest here...

Ranzava arranged for us to speak to the Council of Elders (no government) on his ancestors and only got us kicked out of the city.

More sailing is planned.

xoxo,
Athena

Diary of Athena: SH 1310, Mesnin 25
We spent the last few weeks primarily sailing. Golram, a sorcerer joined our party before we set sail. We found him after destroying the monastery.

We arrived at Cloudy Island a few days after the Summer Solstice when baby dragons are set free.

Upon the island we came to a one-person wide rope bridge that was approximately 300 feet across. Ogther and someone else, I think, attempted to cross the bridge on foot while the rest of used a portal. I stepped through easily but the others took a while because they suck!

At the Cloudy Island Monastery we inquired of the Triumvirate of Bahamut to find Rosnthel. The High Templar met with us dressed like a lama. He had a cloth bag with two orbs and said the next orb was in the bowels of a volcano on Cloudy Island.

The point of our looking for the orbs is because at the beginning there was CHAOS! And Bahamut sent 3 demigods to Aleen-gha to establish order and started the Triumvirate. Soon, Archeron became corrupted and tried to take over. Two other demigods stopped him. Auryn helped imprison Archeron and the orbs were to seal him away or get him back if he ever escaped.

Anyway, we journeyed to the entrance of the dungeon and followed it along a canyon. We went into a cave and ended up having to fight ghouls, which we won and obtained the 5th orb!

However, we then fell down around a bunch of lava and were forced to fend ourselves from more ghouls. And then fought some more ghostly ancestral guardians of the orb! And then we walked upstairs and were swarmed by more ghosts and a book guy in the middle of a ritual! He brought on 3 balls of wispy light that crawled out from the lava and kept coming back.

We barely made it out alive from all the battles. Well, except for Ranzava. He fell into the lava and didn't make it out. Our healer failed to heal himself. Big surprise. Just kidding. We shall miss you! Shirlandra is pregnant with your baby!

We grabbed a rowboat and ran out over the bridge. And then finally rest for the weary.

The next day we literally piled into the rowboat and sailed off. We ended up in a room with monk-like statues of heroes and stairs leading up to a platform with a door. On the door were magical ruins. We figured out that we had to solve puzzles on the statues in order to figure out which ruins needed to be activated. After solving the puzzles the door opened and there was a light going down the stairs into a graveyard next to the mausoleum.

At the bottom was the guy dressed like the lama. We decided to rest up and head to Spearsdale.

Hopefully soon we shall have another healer to help us.

xoxo,
Athena

Diary of Athena: SH 1310, Syk 10
At the end of last month, the Shaded One got up in the middle of the night and walked away. Soon after a monk burst into the room yelling and woke everyone up because a portal had been opened without permission of the authorities. The Shaded One came out of the portal and died after reaching into his pocket where 2 orbs were kept.

Apparently the Shaded One used to work for the Triumvirate for many years in hopes of attaining power but did not receive what he desired.

Two figures burst out of the portal and suddenly we found ourselves in a flashback:

People were fighting outside of a temple near an open portal. Some ranthrough as well as some demons and Vysley and Aliyander came through the portal and told us what happened. These orbs also act to prevent the demons from taking over Spearsdale and they found the 2 orbs there.

We entered the portal and somehow activated 2 of the 3 orbs we have. Suddenly we were attacked by demons. Any attempts of going back through the portal were met by demons. As Spearsdale burns in hellish flames, we learned that portal was fake and so we headed off to Augusthaven. There, we planned on raising an army to help us take back Spearsdale.

The next day on Cloudy Island, Shirlandra galloped up to us on a horse not knowing the sad news of Ranzava. Upon hearing of his death, she ran off in tears.

Ogther and Golram headed to Augusthaven to recruit.

Salty approached us with more ill news that the Leaky Barnacle finally met its end due to decay and battle scars. Salty spoke on behalf of his meager crew to join us in the ApocalypSpearsdale battle.

I failed poorly in my attempts to recruit some monks despite my expertise in diplomacy. So we took a portal to Augusthaven. A messenger was sent by Ogther and Golram to Evenhelm and we learned of 2 rival gangs that might be of use to our army.

We spent an entire day journeying to convince them to join us. Unfortunately, they would not budge and demanded that 12 members of one were killed and the other demanded the head of the other's leader.

We came up with a plan to have Ogther duel the Bal-Sah leader and take his head, which luckily came through very easily. On the plus side, my missing Tantron figurine turned up in the hands of the leader and with his head, I received my beloved Tantron-y back.

Ogther, now the chief of the Bal-Sah battlers renamed them the "Kings of Kor", a.k.a. "Badass No Good Kings of Kor: Bangkok". We used the old leader's decapitated head to recruit the stubborn Flaybend Fighters onto our side as well. Splitting up the 2 rivals and our group, we headed to Evenhelm.

Ogther, Tesk'e and I went to Evenhelm. On the way, we came across a dead messenger horse that looked very similar to that of our messenger. We found Relton not in our shop and the town basically empty. Relton was drunk and singing in the bar across the street. He said all the dragonborn left to take back Spearsdale in arms.

Through the town, we found one dragonborn and learned of what happened.

“One month ago, a man, a Deva, came rallying for troops. It was Adron with 2 orbs. He said Spearsdale was in need of help. Two weeks ago, I heard the army was defeated. The rest of the city was sent to save the world.”

Vysley, Ali, Golram & Co. traveled by hot air balloon, which takes 7 days over the Ragefrost Peaks. The Triumvirate of Bahamut and the orbs were in Spearsdale with the demons. Archeron controls the demons and the demons control Spearsdale. From what Vysley could see, no battles broke out but he could detect the orbs in the palace.

Tesk'e scouted the edge of the swamp by horse and found the rest of the party in the mountains. We plan on attacking on the 11th. After a conference, we drop the siege plan and prepare for a war of the century.

Athena

Diary of Athena: SH 1310 Syk 11
Our battle against the demons for Spearsdale began as an attack from both sides. The Kings of Kor to attack the main gate and the Flaybend Fighters to attack from the Ragefrost Peaks via 3 air balloons at approximately 2am.

While flying over in the air balloons, the army base saw us thanks to one of the stupid pilots who was about to crap his pants the entire time. Teske began fishing for minions with her boomerang-like spear. But things started to look bad as the driver attempted to swerve back and escape the oncoming battle. Raegina and Teske jumped out of the air balloon and held on to dear life with the aid of Raegina's immovable rod.

After unsafely landing within the walls I summoned Tantron (Dragon Magazine 368)to help us break down the gate to get to the palace. Demons attacked us from the side and after much effort, we beat the Raven Wings and Misfortune Demons (which can allow one to deflect damage onto an ally) as well as broke open the gate.

Golram nearly met his doom as he was too far to be helped. However, Ogther, like a true team player, ran back to rescue him and everyone made it through to the other side of the gate. Tantron happily closed the gate as he was able to stamp down something worth at least 1,000 gp and we found ourselves at another door.

Here we found Adron Aegyptus and some dragonborn because they broke into the building we were resting in. We decided to team up against the demons. Adron had 2 orbs that we had detected were within the palace and we had 3. The whole time they were hiding outside the city and saw our Kings of Kor battling out front so they made their way into the palace tier. Somehow, the gate we had closed was open when they came to it not moments before.

We headed off to the bathhouse where Adron said he was supposed to meet someone. Before he left he told us "Make sure to use intelligence when fighting them." At the top of the balcony we found a dragonborn bounded and gagged and a man next to him. It was a human wearing a mask over his face, Dalchion.

Dalchion made the roof fly off and commanded down giant flaming rock creatures from the sky to attack us from the water as undead fire demons. We fought bravely and in the end, killed Dalchion.

OgtherOgther's Biography

Jurnal of Ogther: SH 1310, Greenlid 5
Ogther is not happy about looking into future. Sees pain in future. Sees loss of friends in future. Missed town fair. No good to worship moon-passing. Bad magic there. People in Krusjik not of good nature to worship moon-passing with fun. Moon-passing is a sad time. The moon might not come back from it's battle with darkness. Not good to fun with such a battle. Ogther will rejoin friends now. Fears metal AD will soon fall. Ogther has seen the mark but will tell no one.

Ogther will pray.

Ranzava Baatu

Ranzava BaatuRanzava's Biography
Journal of Ranzava Baatu: SH 1310, Indril 17
After the few weeks I've known these adventuring few I have already found myself in more trouble than usual. Shalach seems to be bent on a simple goal of finding a portal device supposedly hidden somewhere in a wizarding tower or some dungeon or other. And for some reason, this has led us to find a strange librarian's glasses in the history section of the Spearsdale library.

I know of the illogical inconsistencies and complexities of this library, but for some reason these glasses may hold more clues that would, of course, lead to more adventure. So I say go forth! and find these glasses that may contain the mysteries of other worlds (or nothing at all)--so long as our lives are spared and my voice and hands are still intact to tell of our adventures in the future.

Journal of Ranzava Baatu: SH 1310, Indril 18
These books are incredibly annoying! I'm beginning to think we may have gotten in over our heads...but the mysterious nature of our quest just seems too good to pass up.

The great sage, Grau Li --whatever-- has also asked us to find these glasses. Now I'm beginning to think that we should just take these glasses for our own, for it seems that we cannot trust anybody.

If anyone else thinks otherwise, I'll simply "suggest" it to them.

Journal of Ranzava Baatu: SH 1310, Indril 19
Saru, our librarian guide, has died by the hands of Grau today -- what an unfortunate event. Her skills were useful, it would've been nice to get to know her more...

Finally we have found a way outside of this god forsaken library - to a place I haven't known, yet.

The others seem weary, but I suppose it's hard to tell. More on that later. We barely managed to defeat some angelic figure who came out of the portal in the library -- still I'm confused as ever as to what our overall goal is.

Will write more when more has come to pass, as always.

A few days ago we managed to make it out of that wretched library. I must remind myself never again to explore the arcane tomes resting in there - one may never escape its austere walls.

We found some other old friends, including GoGough, a rather strangely inviting Changeling type, and also a half-wolf nature type - I never really understood the source of their powers.

A peculiar thing happened though once we left: a dog lead us to an old building in the slums - rather nasty place to do anything in my opinion. Turns out that our good friend Shalach is no friend at all! The dog led us into a trap: some evil mage named Dalchion gave Shalach a memory and essentially he became his evil self again and both of them disappeared into a gate which seemed to have led into the Elemental Chaos, though I have no idea where in that vast expanse they could be, let alone how to get there in the first place.

Though it seems we've found an ally in this whole mess and he may have clues on how to get there. More to follow.

The summoning room seemed to be unremarkable as far as I can tell. But then again, everything in the slums of Spearsdale is unremarkable, so there's no surprise there.

However, after Shalach realized his true, dark purpose -- whatever that may be -- the room burst into a swirling vortex of demonic power, and a large blue portal opened up to a realm I have never seen but perhaps have only read about in the old arcane texts.

The creatures that came through that portal were not of this world, and a deathly red glow seemed to emanate from their eyes, especially from the fat one clothed in black robes. That wicked monstrosity had powers beyond my comprehension -- he used the sacrificial blood of slaves to summon a colossal demon -- luckily the savage half-orc and the sorcereress dispatched of him before he really posed a threat.

Nevertheless, I am not particularly looking forward to the horrors that are surely to follow as long as we continue to investigate the real identity of Shalach and his dark plan to engulf the whole of Aleen-gha in some demonic catastrophe.

I could really go for a tall glass of Draconic Wine right now...

Much has passed since last I wrote in this book. Seems as though our party has friends in the Triumvirate of Bahamut in places unexpected. Agravain, the triumverate archbishop in Spearsdale has sent us on a task to search for the Shaded One in the desert nation of Dao Salam.

I am unsure of who or what this could be, but our fearless "leader" Aegyptus seems to think we must make our way into Krusjik, a border city in Dao Salam.

But before we made our way there, my good green friend Ogther had some unfinished business to attend to in the swamp fortress of Evenhelm -- and I actually mean business in the real sense this time instead of some act of violence. With my assistance in the matter and a day's worth of negotiations and bargaining, it turns out that we now have a potions and exotic trinkets shop with a merchant friend to run it in Evenhelm. With any luck, we'll be able to make quite the profit from this place without having to much at all except receive a monthly due of 300 gold -- or was it 600?

Anyhow, we have recently arrived in Krusjik and have heard news of a special eclipse that is said to take place on Greenlid 4. I get a feeling that this eclipse might in some way be related to the Shaded One that the Triumvirate has sent us to find.

Since the eclipse took place, Adron led us to an underground dungeon just outside of Krusjik. After Adron had fell into a sand trap, I bravely jumped in after him in attempt to save him.

Of course it was a foolish mistake and we were both chained up by a malevolent and sadistic entity that taunted both of us with swinging scythes and trivia! However, we made ends meet and eventually got out of the mess. Things always turn out right for the good guys, right?

Afterward, we proceeded deeper into the dungeon and clashed blades with the eye stalks of a massive beholder! One thing led to another, and he died of course. After all of that excitement, we returned to Krusjik and found that a town-wide festival was taking place which included games of all sorts as well as a small arena where two of us could fight the (insert prefix here)runs. When AD offered his aid to help me fight, I thought we would have an easy victory, but of course they swarmed me and caused me to fail. However, the mighty warforged pressed on through, and the wizardling was no match for his sturdy exterior.

The others I hear were victorious in the arenas as well. As a result, we were awarded a few specialty items.

In all, it was a grand way to celebrate finding one of the orbs.
