Star Wars NPC: Agent of Ossus

As a resource for SAGA games, I present some of my NPC's, for use and abuse in your home games.  These entries are made as close to the rules as possible, with the only "house-rule" being a fractional accounting for Base Attack bonus.

If the table is oddly formatted I'm sorry.  The website may not be able to deal with the table length

Star Wars Saga: House Rules

I figured I would take a moment to place down my house rules for Saga edition games, since this way I have them typed up and ready for response.  Not many people ask anymore, but This way it gets done once and that should be enough.

So, I'll start off with character classes:

1.) All classes get full BAB progression.  I do this mainly because defense scores easily exceed 35-40 at level 20, and anything less than a full BAB rarely keeps up.

A Bicycle in an Airplane Hanger: Class Roles and Game Balance

*Warning.  this is a musing, not a well thought out post.*
There's been a bit of blog chatter about balance and 4e and what all this means to all of us.  Jester had an interesting viewpoint on not wanting "balance", and Wrecan's response was much more tactile with definitions about party dynamics.

Re-Skin: Vampires for Dark Sun

Continuing the adaptation of regular game elements to Dark Sun, I thought I would try my luck at adapting a recent Heroes of Shadow class: The Vampire.  The ideas here are for Dark Sun specifically, but can of course change the flavor of a vampire in any setting.

But I've got a Sword!!!!!

If you've seen Heroes of Shadow (HoS) then you know that there are vampires.  They are (arguably) the worst striker, with a low average damage output.  That is not a condemnation of the class, as I think that they have some fantastic class features, that while not for everyone, do show a willingness to innovate.  But there is one problem.  It's this:

Die Vermin, Die!!!!

Re-Skin: Character Races for Dark Sun

A WildenEvery time a new race gets introduced into a game world things can get tricky.  Why are these races suddenly here?  Do they fit the aesthetic of the game world?  One particular race that has rubbed a lot of forum members the wrong way is the Wilden.  In this blog I'll present two new back stories for the Wilden race: options to adapt the Wilden to better fit a Dark Sun game and it

Heroes of Shadow: I suddenly want to listen to HIM

I had the fortune of picking up a copy of Heroes of Shadows a bit early.  Ive read some reviews, seen what some people's reactions are, read the "edition" comments, the (often rhetorical) question of is it essentials or isn't it?

Well, having read it, and being that I play the game fairly often I figured I'd pen my own review, one not based on production value and art, but on mechanics and utility.

So to begin:  Heroes of Shadow.
For what it's worth, this is definitely a player resource.

Re-skin: Character Options for Dark Sun

#2 in my little ideas on what makes 4e pretty good, and what we can do to make it better.  This entry is somewhat inspired by this Blog and partially just something I've been mulling over.

As I gear up to resume my Dark Sun campaign i can't help but let my mind wander.  What can I do to keep my players on their toes, and what can I do to make this setting as fun for them as it is for me?
