Origins

Tyrannor has existed for countless years, though the cities and beings of many worlds have come at differing intervals. In the beginning Tyrannor was a trible land with the barest of peoples and cultures. It was not until the discovery of the source by a powerful traveling wizard that the city of tyrannor itself began to take form. The Castle of the Source was built to protect the power held within that divine font and keep it from darker hands. Soon, a city formed around that castle and the wizard became the first of Tyrannor's kings. He ruled, ageless and ever studying the power of the Source until one day he grew tired of eternal life. He passed his crown to his successor and stepped into the Source, becoming one with it's power.

A long line of kings followed him and ruled with wisdom, leading those who were born in and who came to Tyrannor through the many portals. So it continued for many centuries, until the last king who had no children, and no successor stepped into the source. Behind him he left the crown and the throne empty. A new time dawned within Tyrannor, a period of warring guilds and competing factions, all seeking the throne and the power that it guarded. This was the begining of the Guild Wars.

The First Age

The first age of the Warring Guilds Period errupted with warfare and old hatreds burning hotter than ever. The conflicts came down to two warring powers in the world. The first was the Half Elf Foundation, an organization lead by a half elven wizardess who believed in that her people were a force born for good and justice. She lead her people with a crusader like zeal, lecturing and drawing the ire of powerful enemies. When she chose to challenge one of the Dark Lords of the Guild of Ultimate Evil, an organization dedicated to doing dark deeds... things quickly escalated. Behind these rising tensions and hatreds was one creature calling itself Droga.

Droga was a monster of sixteen feet in height, skin as black as night and eyes that burned red with hatred of all that lived. A creature born from a dead demon lord's blood and the very essence of the plane of shadows, it knew only hate. The clashes between these two forces shook the world and nearly destroyed it. However, the darkness of Droga slowly subsided with his vanishing from the world. Some belived at the time that he had been destroyed, but the future would prove differently.

The Second Age

After the disappearance of the monster known as Droga, the world settled into an uneasy peace, with each faction seeking the throne through less obvious means. It was not until an ancient being arose in the form of the undead Lord of the Damned, Sargatanas that the wars raged once more. Walking the world and forging an army from the honored dead of nations and the remnants of great battles, this creature grew powerful and feared. The half elves turned their efforts to the destruction of this new threat as did many Guilds that existed during this time. The Knights Von Drache of Ghashmal Keep turned to the protection of the people and watching over the lands while others took up the crusade against the damned. One such organization was the Tyrannorian Royal Guard, who's headquarters and training camp existed in the Horchound Jungle.

A straightforward creature, Sargatanas marched his army through the Jungle to the gates of the Royal Guard. There it's defenders, those that had not fled at the approach of the army came forth to meet him. Only two came to the defense and they were dispatched with little trouble. The gates were opened, and Sargatanas' dead rushed in to claim the lives of all those within the walls. In this place the Lord of the Damned built his Temple, dedicated to his deity and himself. He filled the jungle with darkness, using some vile magics to surround it with blackness so deep none could see within it. Only those with evil in their hearts could see through this shroud and into a dimly lit world of fear and death. It came to pass that as the days drew on and Sargatans made more enemies, an assassin was hired. None know how he accomplished his task, but it is said that he killed the Lord of the Damned and his generals. Thus ending the second age of the Warring Guilds Period.

The Third Age

Once More years passed in the world before any great conflicts arose. Darkness began once more to flow from the Horchound Jungle in the south and the undead came to walk the world again. It was a suprise to all when a massive ship sailed into Tyrannor's ports carrying a crew of the damned. An even greater suprise was experienced when the captain, Sargatanas stepped forth from the ship. He had been born again through some dark magics, a secret he never reavealed. He gathered evil beings to him, and together they set forth to reclaim the Temple of the Damned from it's new master. Revelaed to be one of the defenders of the Tyrannorian Royal Guard who had been kept alive but fell with the death of Sargatanas and the release of his undead minions. The man rose from death to claim his revenge for the horrible fate he suffered in that Jungle.

There he took command of the territory and sent forth the undead masses to kill and destroy. Spreading a plague and undeath throughout lands long untouched by it's taint. Sargatans destroyed this creature with his servants and once more rose to power. Through deception and the appearance of an even greater darkness, something primal and eternal, Sargatanas took the throne of Tyrannor. There, he gained access to powers beyond the dreams of most mortal men. He forged powerful artifacts and created armies of the damned beyond anything he had commanded before.

Shortly after his rise, the creature known as Droga appeared once more, marching forth with an army of it's vile kin. Together with the paladin Caronath Ir'Shein, Sargatanas confronted Droga and revealed that he had been possessed and empowered by one of the vile primal evils. Tricking them into attacking the source directly, Caronath sacrificed himself to the source, using it's power to seal them and a large amount of the source's power itself away forever. Outside of the city, Sargatans weilded the waning power of the source to kill the beast called Droga at long last. After his victory, once more his enemies called forth assassins and Sargatanas vanished from the world yet again. As soon as he was gone, the people of the world rallied against his servants and overthrew their rule in Tyrannor, the fear of the Lord of the Damned lifted. It was not to last however... for the last time... Sargatanas Returned. His anger and hatred were renewed and enhanced beyond even what he had been in the past. The world suffered in his grasp as he brought death and unlife to all that dared stand in his way. It was a small party of warriors that ended his evil, lead by Arioch of the White Ravens. With the death of the most hated being the world has ever known, peace settled in and the third age ended. The Warring Guilds Period has been left behind, a thing of the past, all but forgotten in the days of peace.
