The Stark Mounds are an ancient and weathered mountain chain that likely broke off from the the Crystalmist Mountains near the Javan River. They divide the nations of Geoff and Sterich, but were claimed mainly by Geoff before its destruction.

The Stark Mounds contain few mines or resources of any kind, although the slopes are fairly fertile.

Even before the Drow Invasion, the Stark Mounds were fairly uninhabited. Since that time, almost no civilized races remain. A few small clans of Dwarves and Gnomes are rumored to still have settlements in the area, but with no outside contact with Sterich or anyone in Geoff. The Mounds are currently inhabited mainly by hill giants and evil humanoids.
