Baron Logan Kline is a nobleman and diplomat of Sterich and ruler of Kline Barony. He is also the patron of the Sterich Heroes adventuring company. Sir Riven Pyke is one of his bannermen and his personal champion. Previous to Riven, Andross Keth served the Baron in the same capacity.

Logan’s father, Gault Kline was a calm composed man who has sought to keep his nation together at all costs. The Kline family stayed on their lands throughout the Giant invasion, although they spent much of that time besieged in Kline Keep. During the Drow invasion, the keep was overrun, and young Logan escaped to Keoland. After Keoland’s surrender to Sesla Ludan and the ensuing Trantherian campaign to reclaim Sterich, Logan Kline was one of the first to volunteer and led troops in several key campaigns. Since that time, he has resettled his ancestral lands and rebuilt the nation around him.

Kline is married to Merci Kline, formerly an important noblewoman from Keoland. They have two children, Lars and Marcus.

Kline Barony was formerly a vassal of Count of Westreach before the current Baron Garnac’s father seized those lands after the Giants invasion. Kline’s father protested the action and the two domains have been at odds since. Logan's long-time friend and closest political ally is Baron Willem Bova, whose lands are adjacent to Kline's.

Baron Kline has a standing rivalry with Rees Merrowman. Kline seized Restwell Keep during the reclaimation of Sterich from the Drow. He did this both because Akul Merrowman (Rees' father) betrayed Restwell Keep to the Drow at the start of the Drow Invasion, and because Rees Merrowman killed his own father and all of his father's retainers when Rees reclaimed Last Bastion, the capital of Merrowman Barony during the reconquest. After seizing Restwell Keep, Kline gifted the land to the last of the Khidrek Dwarves, traditional allies of the Klines whose home was destroyed at the start of the Drow Invasion. In return, they swore fealty to the Baron and became his vassals.
