Bart was a Whisper Gnome Warmage, Celestial Mystic who initially served the Trantherians. After his kidnapping and subsequent drafting into the Black Dragons, Bart provided the primary fire support for them. Through his association and help to the Black Dragons, Bart's connection to the Trantherians was severed and he was forced to truly ally with the Dragons to save his own life. Later in life, Bart married a Gnome woman named Jasmine and retired from public sight into Songhold.

As a result of two Decks of Many Things, Bart's cohort Kira (Cleric, Swordsage, Radiant Servant of Ao) eventually surpassed Bart, and took him as a cohort. Kira then provided the primary healing for the Black Dragons.
