I think each class having the maneuver mechanic should have a different die size equal to the size of his hit dice: example, the fighter should have 6 d10 expert dice at high levels, when the monk has 6 d8 and the rogue 6d6.
Also, on the subject of weapon choices, every characters had time only to learn two (2) weapons in the list given to his class, except for the fighter, who his better trained with weapons, who learns how to use two groups of similar weapons. His damage with such a...

To clarify, there is no difference between background and profession. More skills are needed, but profession is a category which helps define the character's skills. A woodcutter, for example, would be recommended to have the skills Climb, Drive, Gather Information, Plants Knowledge and Use Rope, while the ability of a woodcutter to fell trees would be described narratively, without specifying restrictive limits such as how long it takes or how much damage a falling tree would do. A character...

Okay, first of all, Adam never rode Cringer, so there's no reason to mention him on the list. Furthermore, it's rude and possibly a little sexist for you to mention Battle Cat and completely ignore She-Ra's Spirit/Swift Wind (and yes, Adora actually did ride Spirit, so it makes more sense to mention him than Cringer).
Anyway, I vote for the Luggage from Discworld. Not the most reliable of mounts, but it did get its owner from place to place in a hurry every now and then.

All I want is a wizard that doesn't use vancian casting. That's still all I want. Don't give me a sorcerer or something else - I'd like a wizard, please. Sans vancian.
      July 3, 2012 12:15 PM PDT
But the wizard isn't a D&D wizard if he doesn't use Vancian casting. I have been playing wizards since the dawn of "Eldritch Wizardry" and I wouldn't have them any other way.
If they change the mechanic then change the name, it isn't a true wizard.

Choose to wear less armor, pray for laser spells, choose feats that make your laser spells better and bolster your defenses, etc. Play a WoW priest if you want all of those choices made for you.
My second-favorite cleric of all time was a 2E priest of Liira in the Forgotten Realms. I put a decent score into dex, got bracers of defense and a ring of protection, and threw all of my weapon profs into martial arts from the Fighter's Handbook. I loved my dance-fighting spellcasting chick.

actually, I have no problem at all with that. If they want to make a Build, Background, or Theme of "Priest" "Follower of" or "Holy Chosen of" or whatever, I'm down with that as a solution.
Keep the Cleric as the general pantheist, and if you want to be a follower of a specific god, with holy granted powers, take the appropriate customization to do it off your base class. Nothing wrong with the so-called "feat-tax" there either, as your trying to step into more than one set of shoes, that's...

And yet there is a 1500 reply discussion on how 4e lost the D&D feel... community.wizards.com/go/thread/view/758...

Figured I would throw in an opinion. It really bothers me when someone on here uses the typical "it works why change it" "what everyone plays or wants is D&D 4.0"
ummm, I don't play D&D 4.0, I dont know anyone that does. To me the statement "if it works why change it" applies to AD&D. Not this game some of the new kids play called D&D 4.0. Now, i'm sure D&D 4.0 is a great balanced figure board game. Im sure I would have fun playing it. But, at the end of the day, if I...

It makes for less mobile play. A Ranger with Quadruple Strike is going to be a powerful, static hazard.
      December 5, 2011 10:36 PM PST
What if you considered powers that allowed multiple attacks all a part of the "half action" so any and all attacks made by say, a ranger, would be considered their half action leaving them with another to move with (or manipulate an item [potion, sheath, etc.])?

In the older versions, the players didn't have skills as such, and even when Proficiencies did get introduced, if the players came upon something that they didn't have the skills or specific spells to bypass, the players did need to come up with a tactic to bypass it.
In 4E this is dealt with skill challenges, for example some kind of Ward Spell has stopped the group, the DM has either created a block to force the players to search around for something that will bypass the blockage (magic...

"This isn’t true of more recent expressions of the game. There are few encounters that can’t be won simply by using the PCs’ straightforward powers and abilities. For example, consider fire immunity. In older versions of the game, the red dragon was immune to fire. If you’re packing fireballs, you’re just out of luck. In the most recent version of the game, the designers decided that it’s no fun if the game tells you that the choices you made were wrong, so red dragons are resistant to fire, but...

It makes me happy to see that the lead designer of 5e is actually in tune with how I view magical items.

The joke is clever, but the art is amateur. Kind of the opposite of what we've been seeing lately. You really need to find an artist-writer team that can do both.
That being said, I'd enjoy more of this series.

Personally, I love the artwork's feel. It wouldn't work in a comic book, sure, but it works great as a little webcomic thing; feels like I'm reading some nice little indie webcomic that hasn't gotten massively popular yet. Joke's good too; doubly so for a philosophy major like myself.
