Ok, so, get this:
I've got my players hot on the trail of Nute Gunray, the time period is after the Battle of Coruscant, and after Anakin is put onto the Council of Masters, but before Obi-Wan goes to Utapau in search of Grevious. As of this point, the Jedi Padawan-turned-Knights party has encountered Grevious once already, though that was more of a spur-of-the-moment shock I threw at them, and they inadvertantly let him escape Brentaal because they had to choose either to catch him or save a royal family.
So, here's what the party consists of:
Human-Female Jedi Consular 6/Jedi Watchman 1(This character symbolizes an Anakin-type struggle...as she's been sleeping with one of the sons of a Merchant Prince on Brentaal for about a year now. Her master, Ki-Adi Mundi, knows the truth and told her to 'Follow the Code'.)
Rodian-Male Jedi Guardian 7(He's headed right for being a Master, both in title and Prestige Class wise, and verymuch trusts in The Force, The Code and the Council's wisdom. He's also an A-1 tracker. He, too, knows the truth about the love interest.)
Gand-Male Jedi Guardian 3/Gand Findsman 4(This is the wildcard of the group, hence their traversing all over to track Nute Gunray down. He's also the Padawan to the aforementioned Rodian.)
Human-Male Scoundrel 7(...You guessed it, the should-be Noble son of the Merchan Prince is no Noble. And he's swindled his way into the mission to go after Nute Gunray to be closer to his lover.)
Soooooo....ideas? :D They're headed to Mon Cal in search of one of General Grevious'/CIS' biggest hidden supply depots, and I fully have planned to have things like Magna Droids and Droidekas waiting for them, but I'd like outside opinions from y'all!

Some plot hooks:
1. the PC’s forget to waterproof their ship or reinforce its structural integrity and they spring a leak when they go down deep into the Mon Cala ocean. Mechanics and Use Computer checks needed to fix it.
2. They get attacked by a monstrous sea creature (like a Krakana).
3. Their ship is being tracked by the hidden supply depot’s sensors, and one or multiple separatist battle ships or fighters or underwater droids are sent to intercept/investigate when they approach.

quick question, do you need to introduce a long term villain/plot, or short term encounters?
Long term I would suggest: The group finds evidence that smugglers are piggybacking on the CIS supply runs out of Mon Cal, sneaking contraband into some ships as they leave Mon Cal. THe smuggers could target the group if the group disrupts the CIS supply chain.
The group discovers Quarrens aiding the CIS, tieing into the fact that Quarrens sided with the Empire
Short term encounters: The CIS base is dealing with an infestation of nasty rodents, and the group could stumble across them Mon Cal secret police are also investigating, leading to mass confusion if the groups cross paths

Alright, so here's what I've extrapalated: Nute Gunray does have CIS stockpiles on Mon Cal, but it's not on the surface, or in any wavetop-community...it's deep inside Aquarius, the Quarren mining camp -leagues- beneath the surface waters. The -reason- I'm going to have him fleeing is that Bringe, a -very- well known Mon Cal bountyhunter, hired Cad Bane to get Gunray and the CIS presence off of Mon Cal before the Quarrens start revolts within the mining complex.(I'm sampling from the Geonosis and the Outer Rims book a bit). Problem is, since Grevious unceremoniously escaped the troupe last encounter, he had to go to Mon Cal and get Gunray before he was killed. So, Bane's going to find himself trapped between CIS Droids left behind to deal with any stragglers -AND- the 'FREE DAC!' warcry of the Quarren mining revolt, all -underwater- in a pressurized duracrete facility with things like fuel tanks, blastdoor leaks and crazed Quarren rioters trapped inside. What it's going to look like to the heroes is that Cad Bane -assisted- Gunray in escaping. -That- is gonna open up a -whole new- batch of worms if they try to arrest him for it. Please, further expound on this if you'd like! :D EDIT(06/14): Oh, btw, I was cruising through some of the NPC stat blocks in the back of the RCR Core, and I was a halfstep away from using a Dark Jedi as a hidden baddie down in the mining facility....buuut I reminded myself that in the era of Jedi Supremacy, using Dark Jedi as enemies is a sure way to rip apart canon, so I'd rather stick to non-Force Users....at least until Order 66 Then I'll probably be throwing Emperor's Hands, Dark Jedi, Darkside Marauders and all manner of 'OH ****!' NPC's at them to keep them on the run. I was actually thinking Grevious might drop off a handful of his Magna Droids, as well as some B2's, to 'clean out' any witnesses to Nute Gunray's presence...and since we all know Cad Bane is too badass to be rolled-over by a couple of tin-cans, it blends in to the plothook of him being blamed since, well, he's still living and all.

Cad Bane could be fun, but I really would use the plot hook of smugglers using the facility to get contraband out to the galaxy. You can say you took the idea right from the news! www.cbsnews.com/8301-201_162-57421663/tr...

Now, here's the -real- question...do I use the stock Bountyhunter in the RCR? Or do I actually take the time to make him -way- more sinister?
And if it's to be a custom job, anyone got any suggestions on the build? He's probably due to be a long-running baddie, so putting him at 12th level sits well with me.
