Looking back at all the games of WaS that I've played over the last few years, I took notice that there were a few units that really stood out in my memories for the things that they did (in game of course).  Not just because it's cost effective or super powerful, but it would be that ship that would you would regularly count on to take the objective and win the game or it would somehow be the unit that got that really good roll when you needed it.
First on my list would be the Tennessee, the little old battlewagon from the first set, that ship regularly found itself dueling the Yamato and came out ahead more often than expected during the early days of WaS.
So, what are your "hero" ships?

For me its the Ascari - that little destroyer constantly saves the butt of my Regia Marina. Currently the RN tries to sink that one first ...
...,... and Rock'n Roll - but Minis are fun too...

Graf Zeppelin. Two Bf-109s for air cover and a tough carrier I have no hesitation running straight to the objectives. A terrific value for the points.

Great thread!   I always pick an MVP after each game.   Problem now is to recall the most dramatic winner.

Nordmark,  my boy and I were doing a 600 point build game GE vs GB double maps.   Near the end of the game Nordmark seperated from Teripitz and went on a killing spree.  As I recall she cleared 1 objective and Survived contesting a 2nd to get me the win.

Big E for me as well.

Was playing a Pacific Theater game with the Japanese against the Americans. A cripled Myoko and Nachi broke away and cornered the Enterprise. The Enterprise destroyed them both with her main guns (out of aircraft), taking only one damage in return.

USS Montpelier.

Since my 8 year old son engaged my Kirishima (undamaged so far!!) with Mighty Monty and killed her with one single salvo on 4 Hexes (don't know the roll anymore but is was a blurry of 6s) she has cult status in my community.
Did I mention I lost that scenario? Wink
