What you mean to say you came here to troll for members. Right? Just like the Forumini members have done here and on axis and allies.org to a point where minis on A&A.org is dead. Oh here is just a innocent link to a thread on Forumini or Oh if you want a online game just come to the Forumini. Oh and by the way this forum should be linked to the chosen forum. Just innocent comments right? I think not! I think when shown in this context they clearly indicate an attempt to recruit members from here.
Regards John
I think that I was fairly clear when I gave you the reason why I recommended the OP have a look at Forumini - though I'm certainly sorry if this wasn't good enough for you. Some kind of conspiracy theory involving Evil Foruminians abducting Innocent WotC forum members certainly sounds far more interesting! XD
To be honest I don't quite understand why you're so annoyed with me, afterall all I did was let the OP know that there was an alternative forum to this one - not like he can't be an active member of both. Since when is giving people options a bad thing to do?
PS - I have well over 1000 posts on my Forumini Account and still don't agree with the membership trolling that a bunch of you guys partake in. Now you have to figure out who I am on the Forumini. :belly laugh:
Not sure why I have to figure out who you are on Forumini?
Again, I made one recommendation because I thought that the OP would be more likely to get a match on a busier forum - I do stand by that recommendation, although I'm pleased to see that the OP has now found an opponent here. If I'd known that a simple recommendation would get so many accusations flung at me, I certainly wouldn't have gone out of my way to do so!
I came to see if there was anything on here that I hadn't already seen on Forumini.
Then go back and stay there, if there's one thing I can't stand, it's cheap recruiting attempts. I don't mind the occassional links to some decent information, and I have no interest to stop people from going where they choose, but it goes both ways. We don't need your negative comments, that's why we're here and frankly, I'm glad you never bothered to post anything and I think you should have continued that trend. I'm on this forum because some of us desire and require a quieter and slower paced community. This place also has something your private boards will never have, LEGITIMACY. We've got the game maker's stamp of approval, and I know that just eats away at you guys.
Now, before you try to respond to me with some defiant gibberish and meaningless prattle, maybe you should consult with your fellow members of Forumini first.
I might be too busy to play an online game, but I'm not so busy that I'll let this garbage start up again. But remember, this can go both ways, and we all know what happened last time it did...
Wow! You guys are scary. Still not entirely sure why the heckins you guys think that I'm some kind of recruiting officer for Forumini - I gave my honest recommendation based on my own experiences. Both you and Lurker seem to be under the impression that I have some kind of agenda in getting more members onto Forumini, which seems very strange to me indeed - not like there's any benefit to me which forum someone posts in. As I said, my only motivation is to keep as many people as I can interested in the game.
But don't worry guys - I certainly won't be bothering "your" forums again with my clearly malicious input. Clearly I hadn't appreciated the "us and them" mentality going on here.

Best to head over to Forumini - there have been posts in 24 ongoing online games there since you posted this thread. I sincerely believe that it would be in the best interests of WotC to shut these forums down and link directly to Forumini. Any new players coming here and seeing so few posts will get a very bad impression of the level of activity in the games' communities.
The game is fine, but this forum is dead. The new set won't change that, since people will still be using Forumini instead of here. The only people who post here are a few lost newbies and some Forumini regulars making duplicates of their threads on Forumini.
Me thinks you should re-read your origional post Shinnentai because it looks an awefull lot like an unprevoked attack than a heads up to me. In fact it seems an aweful lot like a us and them mentality you mensioned in the last sentence of your last post. So pardon me if I snicker a bit about that statement you made. Which makes your conspiracy theory rebuttal laughable, anything to deflect the heat off your self.
Lower Regards John

Well, looking back at this, I would like to apoligize to anyone who I might have unintentionally offended with some of my rather broad swings here. I really don't have an 'us and them' mentality, I even recently shared some information I had with some folks on a certain private forum. My comments were really directed at an individual, not a group.

I do have one objection to enbrantain's statement of legitamacy. If I am not mistaken ( and Im not on this) The forumini was given permission to be the Official Sacntioning body for ALL AAM and WAS tournments. I believe that is most definately a stamp of approval by the game maker/designer. so

Frankly, I object to the fact that I was provoked into making any statement at all. But, in the interest of keeping the peace, which I have truely enjoyed for almost a year now, I'll delete my comments and I'm going to take some time off from the boards to make sure I'm completely calmed down. Although I haven't been directly contacted by the moderators I'll take that post by one above as a general warning signal. But don't worry, I wont be gone for too long.

How do you guys play by post? What sorts of standards are in effect? Are you using VASL, a forum, email, IMs, or something else?
I used to play AH and SPI games by mail back in the Dark Ages (Victory in the Pacific, Hitler's War, The Russian Campaign, and 1776, mostly). It was both fun and a PITA. I'm curious how that's evolved with the new games. Anytime you insert flexible turn sequencing and lots of phases, PBM gets complicated.
