Feels like one of those things I should have a strong opinion about, but I don't. I'm sure someone will be along here soon to moan about how stupid it is, but weirder things have happened in Star Wars. It's Clone Wars, it's kids' TV, and people who don't watch it can carry on not watching it. (Including me, perhaps. I haven't got round to watching much of season 4 yet.)
As I pointed out elsewhere though, Maul is already probably the most resurrected SW character ever. Half-cyborg in Visionaries, brain hooked up to a hologram in Tales, semi-cloned in Force Unleashed bonus content, inexplicably raised to fight a grudge match with Vader in another Tales story.
Makes it seem like it was only a matter of time before Maul returned in the Star Wars mainstream. I guess everyone wanted to see more of him, even George, eventually.

One thing I will say though is this: why so much surprise from everyone? We saw Maul a year ago, at the end of the Nightsisters arc! He was blatantly coming back! No one should be shocked by this! I'm using way too many exclamation marks!

Yeah, that would be me.
I'll be skipping any Savage Opress episodes anyway, because he's the next stupidest thing to bringing back Maul himself.

Moooan...

Well to sum him up he is stupid. His name is stupid, at least the last name. Savage is not to bad, could even be a good name with a more fitting last name!
Now other than that I kind of liked the Night Sisters ritual and his final test.

That use of farseeing is really paying off!
Maybe that's how I knew that Maul was coming back and everyone else seemed to miss it...

Well when Darth Maul comes back we might see his offspring Darth Mallet. I have a whole workshop full of tools that can be names for Sith lords.

You know what would be really cool to see in the Clone Wars show? Stuff about the Clone Wars. No crapalicious acid trips to the planet Rigor Mortis, no derivative poodoo about some wannabe heir apparent to Darth Maul, no droids buying fruit, etc. Just stuff about the Clone Wars.

Darth Maul is sort of the Biggs Darklighter of the Prequels. I remember seeing, a long time ago, one of those "Scenes you wanted to see in Star Wars, but never will" lists, and one of them was:
Biggs. He doesn't even have to be doing anything, just standing around, but him in the film for chrissakes!
Darth Maul is kind of like that. All he did in his only official appearance was say two lines and die. But he had such presence that fans desperately want to see him.

I know they won't, because that would make me happy and be a nice tie in to an existing product, but I think it would be cool if they actually used the half cybernetic version from Visionaries.
I dunno. Maul, he was possibly the most underutilized character in all of star wars. But the implentation of this in the CW cartoons will be childish, because it's a kids show. So i'll grab my pop corn, watch the episode online, and enjoy my saturday morning cartoons. I have very few of them now.
Oh, and as for droids buying fruit, clearly you've never been subject to the various anime filler story arcs, like having phenominally powerful ninja's have to make the "curry of life!"
I guaruntee you, that's worse. it's like if chewie is a wookie, you must acquit. there is no answer to the curry of life.
My Blog, mostly about D&D. I imagine that Majestic Moose plays a more "A team" type game than most of us. By that I mean he allows his players to make tanks out of a backyard playground set since the players have more "fun" that way.
Actually I much prefer The Losers.Spoiler:
Show
When I and my friends sit down we want a game of heroic fantasy. Rare is the moment when I have cried out in a video game or RPG "that's unrealistic." (Unless there is no jump button. Seriously makes me mad, single handedly ruined the N64 zelda series for me, but that's a digression of a digression.)
I mean, we play games with the force in galaxies far, far away, with supernatural horrors, dragons and demi-gods, alternate cosmologies, etc.
Reality and it's effects hold little sway to what makes a Heroic fantasy game fun IMO.
Just repeat after me:
You are not a beautiful or unique snowflake. You are not how much you've spent on WotC products. You are not whatever RPG you play. You are one of tens of thousands of people that spend money on a hobby. You will not always get what you want
