Hi, folks! I've got a couple of new sci-fi poster maps and a new set of terrain cards in the works.

Here's a look at the poster:

Boarding Action

Strike Force Carrier

And here's the covers showing the map tile set:

Surveillance Station Cover Surveillance Station Back Cover

As you can see, it's consistent with the work I've done for WotC over the years but I like to think the quality has improved some with practice. I'd welcome your feedback on the new maps.

You can get a closer look at them and learn more at the Kickstarter page for the project:

I'm already on it! DarthVaughn clued me in to this release - thanks, DV.
Great map opportunities for roleplayers! Light freighter. Nasty customs ship. Assault dropship. Good times.
Note that if you order so as to obtain access to the PDF, you can get the dual-ship map printed and then split it. Especially nice for the Freighter.
Note also there isn't a whole lot of time left to meet the production deadline.

Thanks, guys!

One thing that may not be immediately apparent is that the Strike Force Carrier map is actually built of two ships as well; it's a modular craft designed to separate mid-flight to meet changing strategic needs. I wish I had planned it out just a bit better so that the separation between ships on both maps worked out to the same line if you cut a poster in half, but alas that didn't occur to me until both were completed.

I forwarded this to our Star Wars GM, and I'm looking into my 'game allowance'.

Just a quick update: This kickstarter pre-order drive ends in 49 hours, and it has almost *doubled* the original goal. Mass Transit III and the Surveillance Station tiles are definitely going to be released.

Plus, I've promised that if we *do* manage to double the goal (we're less than $300 from that new goal), the additional funding wil be used to reprint my first Mass Transit poster--the long-out-of-print Exodus-Class Heavy Courier and Offworld Shipping Center. It will then join the other available maps as a reward option for backers.

Thanks for the outstanding show of support, folks!!

I sooooo want to get in on that but if I do I'm really hoping to pick up all three Mass Transit maps.  I'd also have looked at the original Forsake Lands but the second doesn't interest me as much as I like one side of each of the Deep Vistas.  I'm so close to contributing but am also a bit worried that the 5k mark will just be missed.  Granted its only $250 away as I type but you never know.

I know the promised mark is double but could MT1 still get reprinted if it doesn't quite make it?

A couple of other friends just asked me about that today, too.

The answer is yes* (with an asterisk)...

My far-more-sensible wife is anxious about committing to the added cost before knowing for sure that the reprint can be paid for, but I'm inclined to go ahead with it even if we do fall short a little. Worst case scenario would be that I'd print fewer copies--though still enough to supply all backers, certainly.

So yeah, frankly: if we don't quite meet the goal, I think we're close enough now to go ahead with it anyway, and MT1 will still be reprinted.  I'd need to double-check with my printer for a revised quote if we don't make the goal--but being this close, I'm 99% sure that we'd still go ahead with it.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this time Monday night, it won't even be an issue.

Thanks Chris, that's the answer I'm looking for.

I'd be hoping to meet the goal as well.  I'm certain the reprint "tease" earned a lot more backers and while I don't know the costs involved it seems to me like your trying to raise twice the money and going to use some of that to perform an action equivalent to part of the original goal.  Two maps for twice the funds but still just one card set.  Of course when the boss says something it is probably a good idea to listen.
