For the Revenant I used Warforged as a base. There is always debate on whether or not WF are overpowered in 3.5. I personally do not see them as such. When it came down to their healing I was also just trying to keep it within the structure of the race I was using as my base. WF get only half healing from divine but full from repair. I figured I could easily modify that to work but replace repair with inflict and harm. But you made an excellent point about the other damaging spells behaving oddly, I will have to go back and rework that, I am glad you caught that, I completely missed it. As far as the +2 +2 -2 stats, well that is just a pathfinder thing. Pathfinder characters get two ability scores (1 mental, 1 phy) at a +2 and a single penalty vs the standard +2 -2. When it comes to the racial weapons you once again bring up an interesting concern. I am unsure if I will keep or remove that at this point. It will definitely need some play-testing and revision, I thank you for taking the time to actually voice opinions and not just coming out to say "This race sucks". :) (SORRY for this wall of text, the WotC site apparently does not play kind with paragraphs, I tried)
