BOB LIVES. I've been thinking about the movie and tv series' MONSTERS VS. ALIENS.' This show features B.O.B. who's a throwback to the classic sci-fi horror flick 'THE BLOB'. B.O.B. sort of looks like Blue Eye Goo of early ninetendo games. So, if we were to create bob would he be an ooze made with the AWAKEN spell? There was one episode in the Tv series where bob was splitting in half. Would it be amusing to have bob reproduce by fissioning? How many bob's are too much of a good thing? He eats 2-3 hams aday in the government facility "fifty-something". Just a few random thoughts.

Now, over the years i've based adventures off the idea of population explosions or migrations. I'm also a fan of movies based off the idea of giant animals. So, how about some thoughts on " Attack of the Giant Caterpillars" ? [sblock=phase one] A volcano that erupts once per century begins to erupt and launch caterpiller eggs all over the empire.[/sblock] [sblock=phase two] The eggs hatch into 1 inch long caterpillars. these caterpillars have a head spike and a coat of poisonous hair like the poisonous hair on some tarantulas. These caterpillars eat 100 times their own weight and double in size dailly.[/sblock][sblock=phase three]Eventually these these grow to be small size or 40LBS. The head spike is the equal of a dagger. the party is called in by one of the factions, Farmers or Nobles....

The Fungle. Now in a D+D world you can have a wide variety of fantasy enviroments. One of my favorites is the Fungle. An underground jungle made up of mushrooms. [sblock=bats] All good fungles require a roof covered with bats. These bats leave the cavern or cave and return to deposit tons of guano. Guano is the fertilizer that makes all fungles posible.[/sblock][sblock=megalopedes] Tiny centipedes to megalpedes thrive in the Fungle.[/sblock] [sblock=rats] The basis of the food chain and what keeps the predators fed when there's no adventurers around.[/sblock] [sblock=mushrooms] Shriekers , Violet Fungi, Myconids from the monster manual. Explodostools from a type of landmine. Some mushroom trees have a phospheresent glow, green ,blue or violet. There's also the posibility of halucigenic...

If you were the Creator-God of a race , what would your race look like? [sblock=Two-headed]Savage Species has a Multi-Headed template that allows you to create a two-headed race. It would have +2 HD,+2AC, and a +1CR. Each head controls an arm granting two weapon fighting for free. Heads take turns sleeping, continuous activity. Cannot be surprised. This makes for a capable creatue indeed.[/sblock][sblock=Amphibous]Able to function in air or water. Maybe lay masses of eggs in ponds? Most civilizations are littoral anyway, this would heighten the use of waterways. No sunken ships?[/sblock] [sblock=abilities]What sort of ability would you boost? Suppose you could give an 18 to any one score? Wisdom would cause them to worship you more and be more aware of their surroundings. Charisma would make...

Now , I've been having thoughts on mini's. When I go to the Dollar store I occasionally buy cheap plastic animals and such. What would happen if we produced a loss-leader. 1$ bags of orcs ,elves, skeltons, men at arms with a stat card or some ads for D+D. Because little kids go straight to the toy section they would ask their parents to buy some of the products depicted? This would also encourage people to use more mini's,get them hooked on the orcs, then show them something cool like a yuan-ti or medusa?

Some thoughts on how the female form is depicted. [sblock=egg-layers with breasts.]I have seen artwork depicting Lizardfolk, kobolds and yuan-ti with breasts. why would an egg-laying species have breasts? The yuan-ti as a magical cross of serpents and humans might retain ornamental breasts, but otherwise this just shows a lack of professionalism on the part of the artist. Any commercial artist being paid for their work should have a better understanding of anatomy.[/sblock][sblock=Naked Evil] In the monster manuals you see Nymphes, sylphs , erinyies and succubi being depicted in a somewhat nude state. This allowed critics of D+D to state that the game was pornagraphic as well as demon-worship. Perhaps the art should be modified so that a mom who sees her 10 year old with the book won't be...

Now I've been having some thoughts about the Awaken spells. What these spells do is allow the spellcaster to project some of their intelligence and langauge spells into an unintelligent recipient. The Basic Awaken spell allows you to awaken plants and animals one at a time. Suppose you awakened a tiny peice of moss, would you name this Npc Kate Moss? Suppose you Awaken a protoplankton,do all of it's children inherit the parents intelligence? If the protoplankton becomes a psion do the individuals form a hive mind? Could the Protoplankton become something like an Algoid from 2 ED D+D? If an oak tree becomes Awakened does every acorn it drops become Awakened also? Do the children of an awakened oak tree and a Treant have intelligence? In under 200 years a forest could become very dangerous...

Now, have you ever noticed how oddly poor some races are? I know that goblins are often escaped slaves who left with little more than the clothes on their backs. But if goblins are still enslaved shouldn't their owners work them like dogs ,and give them better gear to work with? Kobolds who number in the thousands and are better miners than humans supposedly give their wealth away to dragons , shouldn't they see to it that every kobold has an experts masterwork tools first, just to increase their efficiency? Most warrior cultures insist that you learn 4-6 weapons ,yet in order to avoid swamping Dm's most warrior races in D D only carry 2 weapons, they also wear armor inferior to what the pcs would wear as well. Why do warrior races that live by raiding have so little loot? D D has an unofficial...

I was looking thru Savage Species the other day and noticed that a lot of templates were applied to ogres. I notice also that there seems to be a lot of Half ogre crossbreeds as well. Hobgoblins, humans and orcs all crossbreed with ogres. This leads one to ponder. Is the pureblood ogre going to disappear? Do they only exist until something comes along and breeds with them? I mean once a party hits fourth level or so do all the regular ogres just sort of disaapear,as bizarre ogres take their place?

Now, I've been seeing some odd attitudes amongst the newer players. I was reading a post where somebody was having trouble integrating his wife into the group because she wanted to play part-time and play a vampire pc who was non-evil. One person logged on to assert that pcs have the right to play anything they want and that the Dm should make more of an effort to accomadate the new pc.I think that players have a responsibility to create a pc that fits in the Dm's game. If I create a sylvan paradise where the only race allowed is elf do you have the right to draw up a happy go lucky dwarf and insist That I create a dwarven nation with an Entertainers Guild for him to belong to? If the party has a LG paladin and you want to play a vampire is it ok for you to mock the paldin and argue with...
