    About Me

About Me: I am fairly new to Magic. I’ve wanted to learn to play for years, but never had anyone to teach me until recently when I made a few new friends who are pretty strong magic players.

About 6 months ago I “inherited” a few thousand cards from someone who used to play when they were young; these cards are all about 10 years old and there’s nothing overly valuable in there, just a lot of crap mostly, lol. My friends gave me a bunch of newer cards, plus I bought the Deckbuilder’s Toolkit to get me started. I did the Besieged pre-release so I got a bunch of cards from there as well.

My problem with some of the newer cards is that they seem really complex, which is great when you know what you’re doing, but for a newbie things like charge counters and poison counters and Equipment cards are confusing! And playing against experienced players is hard because the game goes too fast, and I get flustered and forget to follow the correct order of play or tap my attackers, lol. I also have problems with sealed/draft... I love putting together decks but I can’t build one in half an hour yet, lol.

But yeah like I said I love building decks, and thinking about what decks I can make, especially tricksy ones! I like thinking about stuff like Roc Eggs, Mitotic slimes and Day of Judgement combos... or getting out like 20 Relentless Rats via Thrumming stone, throwing down Day of Judgement, then playing Nantuko Shrine and a last remaining rat and overrunning my opponent with rabid squirrels. So yeah... um... not a serious player here, lol. But I want to learn to play seriously/competitively as well.

So anyway that’s me... if anyone has any advice for me don’t be shy... also if there are any other girls out there (any? Any at all?) please feel free to say hello. ^_^
