Ya know, theres nothing like the feel and look with a set of new dice. My roomie went to DragonCon in Atlanta this past week, and he asked if there was anything I needed. Hmm...I thought. Something inexpensive but special to me. So I said dice, bring me back a set of dice, there was one in particular that my roomie had and I wanted a set of the d8 he had. So there they were, all nice and new, havent even been rolled yet. I know for a fact that there is a special bond between the dice and the roll. maybe even the way one can twist and turn, letting loose a volley of 2d10's or 3d6's. Yup I'm sold new dice are awesome and speaking of not havent been rolled yet, let me see what this one does. 7...The man upstairs number kickbutt. Well gotta associate that with a good concept. Other than that I probablly didnt hit. Let me try again, the orc provoked an AoO. 20 Freakin Crit. No S#$%. This set is gonna rock.

If somebody were to have told me a year ago that we as the world and the United States were to be facing tough economic times. I wouldnt have taken them seriously. I was working two jobs, money was great and I have D&D. Now facing tough economic times and possible layoffs, Iam struggling to pay the bills and keep my head above water. I cant afford all of the luxuries I once had. Even the truck is facing repossesion. Im living pay check to pay check paying an insane amount of bills. But through it all, I still have the one passion that keeps me believing that things will get better. Maybe its the escape that I love, but I can remember all too well the fun of that shiney red box from TSR. Rolling my first ever light blue d20 and wondering what it was for. Yes, tough economic times but such a game that utilizes the mind and imagination is such a cost efficent way of entertainment.
