I went ahead and hid the border graphics at this stage because they were really making the whole map difficult to read, and they really become unnecessary. As a DM what I want are undefined borders so I can engineer conflicts between nations. Those early drawn borders are really just a crutch so I have a better idea of where to place cities and to whom each city belongs.
Now I'm ready to leave the graphic part of the campaign behind for a while and start concentrating on the text that will go with the setting. For this part of the project, I'll have at least three broad sections.
The Chronicle will detail the history and the story of this world up to the beginning of the campaign.
The Gazeteer will give details on the nations, cities, cultures, and regions of the setting. In this case, the Gazeteer will focus primarily on the eastern continent and the peninsula just across the Tarosian Channel.
Finally, I'll write my own Deities and Demigods section of the setting that will detail the Cosmic powers that influence and manipulate the mortals living in the world.
