Wow, I really like the part about DMs working with players to create their own subclasses that fit for their campaign and story. I also like the part about subclasses focusing on fluff and background, thus, the are things like Knight and not Defender (defender/slayer can be dealt with through feat and expertise dice maneuver selections). I like where subclasses are going!

4E edition was very Controller based, like confusing, slowing, stunning, dominating enemies and even going as far as scrambling their positions on the battlefield. The 4E Psion is a perfect example of how they are not the Wizard, even though they are both Controllers, and with augments (similar things already in the packet) I think they could easily stand on their own. Subroles could be Telepath, Kenetic, Shaper and maybe even Psychic Warrior, to roll them into a single class.

I have two questions:
1. The rules you've posted assume that all characters are completely competent seamen. Was there a feat for this, a home-brewed skill, or was it just assumed as character background?
2. By moving at the beginning and end of your turn, do you mean you move your move speed twice or must divide it up? For example, if your ship can move 6, can it move 6 at the start of its turn then another 6 after your actions, or must it divvy like 2, then 4, etc.? In other words,...

When I took over an Eberron air pirates group, I wanted a ship to ship battle mechanic, and this was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks so much for posting and making it.
Man, they spammed the hell out of the intimidate skill (ship takes half dam on a miss). They did say battle was kinda slow, but I did change some stuff cause I didn't know what to make the ships' AC or HP. And we ended up upping the attack mods on the weapons. About Me: Im an old time Duel Masters fan. Trying to get a Kaijudo group started. Also playing D&D. In fact I'm a new DM. Hope I'm good enough.
