    A little about me (RL)

    Sunday, September 6, 2009, 8:16 AM

Now that I'v e been on the site for a bit, and it looks like I'll be around for awhile;  it might be time for introductions.

I'll start... I've been playing these games (DnD - all versions from start to date),Traveller,Star Frontiers,Alternity, many flavors of board war games) for a long time. I've been playing over the internet since the first BB systems came out (yes, before the first web browser) but not heavily until I moved over seas from the USA to Asia. Since 2000, all my gaming experience has been Virtual using the first VTs, and of course PbP. BY FAR I enjoy the pace and interaction of RL VTTs... but I also appreciate the strengths of each format.

I currently live in Brazil (I'm an American) in the beautful city of Rio de Janeiro a stone's throw away from Barra Beach in Tujuca.

    My Current Regular Games are:

    1. d20 DarkMatter Campaign (The Hoffman Institute) via www.dndonlinegames.com (GM) -its been running since before 2006
    2. DnD 3.5 FR Adventure (The Labyrinth of Madness) via www.dndonlinegames.com (GM) - its about to finish up, and its been running since FEB-07.
    3. Dnd 4e Adventure (Random Encounter) via www.dndonlinegames.com (GM/player) - started in APR-2009.
    4. DnD 4e Campaign  "The Lighthouse" via iTableTop (GM) - this is a RT (real time) game that just started. See the Group "The Lighthouse" for more about that one.

My Longest Running VT Game was 8 years long - Star*Drive (Alternity) via WebRPG/OpenRPG/GRIP and even finially via custom IRC client from alternityrpg.net We played all the way from 2501 through the end of the Externals Wars, and then a little beyond before we stopped.

I work for an alturistic, human relief agency in parts of the world that may need our kinds of services from time to time so it keeps me moving and busy. Awesome work - Serious Play! Gaming is one way I can let it all go for a little while, so I can come back to the real world a bit more sain.

My other hobbies include SCUBA, most outdoors activities including climbing/hiking/Geocaching, health swimming, music (guitar/bass) and of course my family (husband, father of three wonderful kids). I'm also adorded by a lab, named Mezzo.

Anyway, that just a litte about me and my experiences with the Virtual Table!

Nice to meet you all, Savoy

I'm loving the new site... and hoping this can be a place the Virtual Table Top (iTableTop, OpenRPG, WebRPG, etc., etc., etc.) will not only be welcome, but EMBRACED!
