For some time I've been thinking of getting into tournament playing. I decided to take a look at standard. For a while the Undying and Morbid abilities has appealed to me, especially since my casual decks usually involve sacrificing and using the graveyard to some extenet.
This deck aims to be very aggressive, using Young Wolf and Strangleroot Geist
for early beatdown. Champion of Lambholt
allows the beaters past the opponent's defenses. Its ability will trigger when creatures are successfully cast and when undying triggers allowing.
Hex Parasite 's ability helps keep the undying creatures out of the graveyard by removing the counters before the creatures die.
Bloodflow Connoisseur and Altar's Reap
provide sac engines, allowing me to control when both undying and morbid triggers.
For creature removal I've included Tragic Slip and Doom Blade
, though I'm considering Bone Splinters
as it doesn't have the restriction of nonblack and provides another sac engine.
With all the potential sacrificing and creature destruction Lumberknot powers up quickly and helps with Essence Harvest
.
