royk's Coopa Bots Tier Listversion 1.0
Introduction
I cannot remember who first started calling the Co-op vs. AI mode "Coopa Bots," but the term was damned catchy and proliferated among the few intertwined playgroups of which mine was one. But it really doesn't matter. The term captured the whimsical nature that we attributed to the bots. A combination of their dog-like penchant for trailing after you through the jungle, their seemingly instinctual rapid fire of spells at first sight of you, and the fact that they always came back out for more endeared the bots to us much like a dear is to a wolf. The fallout of this is that we play a lot of Coopa Bots.
There were two big questions that arose in formulating this list. First, how do I go about evaluating each champion? Would conventional SR laning paradigms affect such evaluations, or do I toss all that out and go by a champion's ability to peak in a near sand-box environment? Second, is such an endeavor even worth it? Isn't the point of bots to have fun and goof off? Why so serious?
For the first question, I decided to evaluate a champ's performance solo mid. This is the cleanest method, typically because no other player will go mid if they see that someone has claimed it. That you also are paired with a single bot further adds to the simplicity. Runes, masteries and summoner spells are obviously huge influences on a champion's performance early game (acutely so at level 1), so they're important. What makes them even more key is the fact that you can min-max your runes, masteries, and summoner spells for either of two bots - Annie or Ryze - you can face in mid; I did not do this in testing, but used whatever rune and masteries set up I would use on any normal SR game. The only accomodation I made was including Teleport as a summoner spell, with the second spell being offensive - either Ignite or Exhaust.
For the second question, this tier list is super un-serious and super fun. It's about bots I mean my gosh!
Tier 1 - Champions that bring all the bots to the yard. These champs can first blood their opponent within the first 5 to 10 seconds of the first creep waves meeting each other mid.
- Caitlyn
- Dr. Mundo
- Ezreal
- Gankplank
- Irelia
- Rumble
- Teemo
- Tristana
- Xin Zhao
Tier 2 - Champions that bring a supermajority of bots to the yard. These champs can first blood their opponent on or before reaching level 3.
Tier 3 - Champions that bring a majority of bots to the yard. These champs can first blood their opponent on or before reaching level 6, but after reaching level 4.
