What you seem to be talking about is first or second edition D&D. Removing feats, powers, abilities, you would go back to basic D&D. You can argue against those examples as well as for them. Aggressive Advantage- The character is actively searching for danger and is waiting for it. Think of a marine who gets all amped up before breaching a door and entering a room right behind a flashbang grenade. I have heard it refered to as time moving in slow motion. Sounds like CA to me. Thats just one...

I think what happens with a flash bang is more akin to the concept of a Surprise Round. Bam, my whole team (prepared for the flash bang) gets to go once while everyone else regains their bearings. The Marine getting amped up doesn't cause everyone to lose their defense - that's due to the deafening explosion cauterizing their senses. The angry marine is just pumped and that's not inherently different than at ANY time he's going to be attacking. One must have testosterone to get some killin...

We all know it's the bard who's the first to die. DAMN that liberal-arts degree! I wanted to defend my thesis, not my life.
Last to die: the artificer. By the time the ranger finished making crude snares, the artificer would have built an extradimensional resort using a conch shell, some coconut milk, and the warlock's pact blade.

"Don't get frustrated if the players turn away from your adventure." I'm glad I don't have this problem since my players are the ones creating the adventure – I just create the world, fill it with various baddies, and turn them loose.

The unprofessionalism element has nothing to do with a mostly empty Ro3 article -- it is entirely the idea that they're using an article written by someone that they have laid off. To use your analogy of the DM stopping the game session, it would be like the DM being asked to leave and being replaced by another DM who is continuing to use the material the first DM had created and selling it as his own.
There was no need at all for this article to be posted in Baker's name. *That* is the...
