Great, this also means I can get started on moving us to the next stage of the story!
To make sure everything keeps on moving forward I'll start on it now. If anyone has something to add to their afterlife stories, either make a quick note about it here (I'll check just before clicking 'post') and I'll wait until you are finished, or simply feature a flashback in your next post or a seperate post if you don't see this in time.

Welcome back Harn! Glad you are back in touch with the world. I am working on a post. I've been working on it for awhile. I hope to have it done soon and up. Lin, you are doing a great job and I love the detail in your post! However, there are so many shiny goodies in your post that it is taking me forever to write a reply. I don't know whether to laugh or stick my tongue out at you. (Imagine that, having someone complain because you are doing too good a job.) EDIT: 55 minutes later, the post is up. Sorry for the length. It may just take 55 minutes to read!

Haha, I'm sorry And don't apologise for lengthy posts! At least, I always enjoy a good long post Aaaand, this will be a good time for everyone to make a note on their character sheet on what languages you know.. Since none of you are familiar with elves or other non-human races * treat languages as an area thing, not a racial thing. It just happens that an area where people speak Elven are mostly inhabited by Elves.. but for instance if a Half-Orc was born and brought up in that area, his main language would also be Elven. *you might have come across one once or twice, but they prefer not to venture into Human lands, I'll expand on this later when I have the time (in reply to the Elven history rolls) My brother is coming over for a surprise visit this weekend, so I won't have a lot of time to write up a reply. As per usual, talk amongst yourselves and/or ask the Elf some more questions if you think I'm being too slow

I am very glad that Cassilda has the linguist feat! She speaks Common, Elven, Draconic, Giant, Dwarven, and Goblin. I guess this means she can understand the elf. Now, the real question is this, does she want the elf to know she speaks his language or can she possibly learn more if she pretends to only speak Common?
Have a great time visiting with your brother.

Yuhren's sheet has been updated. He speaks Common and Primordial. Not sure where he might've learned a language like Primordial at, but, that's what I get for being Genasi (human).
Also, I agree with Akava, I wanted to have Yuhren inspecting all the shiny objects described in the room, but with the speed with which the elf comes to collect us, Yuhren just wouldn't have had the time.

Zarja is only familiar with the Common tongue, so that's easy enough for bookkeeping purposes.

Obstinance?
Until you've had an in-law tell you your choice of game was stupid, and just Warcraft on paper, and dumbed down for dumber players who can't handle a real RPG, you haven't lived.
You haven't lived.
Lady and gentlemen.... I present to you the Edition War without Contrition, the War of the Web, the Mighty Match-up!
We're using standard edition war rules. No posts of substance. Do not read the other person's posts with comprehension. Make frequent comparison to video games, MMOs, and CCGs. Use the words "fallacy" and "straw man", incorrectly and often. Passive aggressiveness gets you extra points and asking misleading and inflammatory questions is mandatory. If you're getting tired, just declare victory and leave the thread. Wait for the buzzer... and....
One, two, three, four, I declare Edition War Five, six, seven eight, I use the web to
Go!
D&D should not return to the days of blindfolding the DM and players. No tips on encounter power? No mention of expected party roles? No true meaning of level due to different level charts or tiered classes? Please, let's not sacrifice clear, helpful rules guidelines in favour of catering to the delicate sensibilities of the few who have problems with the ascetics of anything other than what they are familiar with.
Just a quick note on the MMORPG as an insult comparison...
MMORPGs, raking in money by the dumptruck full. Many options, tons of fans across many audiences, massive resources allocated to development.
TTRPGs, dying product. Squeaking out an existence that relys on low cost. Fans fit primarily into a few small demographics. R&D budgets small, often rushed to market and patched after deployment.
You're not really making much of an argument when you compare something to a MMORPG and assume people think that means bad. Lets face it, they make the money, have the audience and the budget. We here on this board are fans of TTRPGs but lets not try to pretend none of us play MMORPGs.
Adding options at the system level is good. Adding options at the table level is hard.
Removing options at the system level is bad. Removing options at the table level is easy.
This is not complicated.
Something like Tactical Shift is more magical than martial healing.
Telling someone to move over a few feet is magical now? :|
I weep for this generation.
Given the laziness and morbid obsesity amongst D&Ders, being able to convince someone to get on their feet, do some heavy exercise, and use their words to make them be healthier must seem magical.

Iton has Common and Giant, which I have been assuming is actually Cetan.
