Seraphi breathes a little easier as Brack slumps in defeat.  She hopes he isn't dead, having initially intended to take the dwarf into custody no matter what her mother and the other mages wanted.  Ignoring the dwarf for the moment, Seraphi steps out into the street.  Like Lutgar, she is not so sure she wishes to make friends with Red Leaf.  The man had intended to assassinate the kingpriest after all and then there was the issue of sending that swarm of crawling insects into the shop.

"We should not linger over long in the streets.  A scata patrol could come along at any moment," she warns.  Given the group's reputation with the Scata, Seraphi doesn't feel the need to share the danger of that.  To giant constrictor snake she requests, "Ssarpenoth my friend, please cut off the retreat of the elf with the bow in the alley."  She gestures down the alley at Red Leaf.  Moving out to get a better view, she finds a good spot that will keep the elf in sight.

No more spells from you, thinks Seraphi to herself as she begins to carefully watch the kagonesti.  She waits for any sign of spellcasting from the elf, her own hands raised in order to cast a counterspell.  The concentration on her face is clearly evident and hints that what she intends is neither a gaurantee or easy.

Ssarpenoth's tongue flickers in the air, testing the scents registering there.  The giant snake hears the request of Seraphi and does its very best to comply.  It loosens the bulk of its coils, dropping the dead weight of the sticky dwarf.  Leaving the dead wizard behind, Ssarpenoth begins to quickly slither towards the alley.  Its large, sinous body works back and forth as the giant snake quickly enters the alley and moves to take up a position behind Red Leaf.  The head rises up, bobbing too and fro in a very threatening manner.  It is clear that if Red Leaf tries to flee he will have to avoid the massive fangs of the giant snake.

Crunch Show
Seraphi moves to F,7 and then readies a counterspell.
Ssarpenoth drops Brack then double moves 35ft to E,14 or just behind Red Leaf to cut him off.  His movement would provoke an AoO if Red Leaf was holding a melee weapon.

Kestrel, usually never at a loss for words, stands there with her mouth hanging wide open in shock as she stares at Lutgar.

Activating a wand via UMD is a standard action, so we'll use Kestrel's first roll (which succeeds)

Apologies for the quality of the post - very tired + accidently deleted what I had already typed up ...

Elessar gestures to his summoned elemental who then moves towards Red Leaf to attack. It kicks up a small amount of dust as it goes, almost like a dust devil. It then swipes at the Kagonesti but hits his armor and doesn't appear to inflict any harm. Elessar then moves to the area vacated by his minion and takes a shot at the Kagonesti, but between his elemental in the way and the difficulty of firing into a melee, he just misses.

The Kagonesti Red Leaf, seeing his predicament, looks around his as if in desperation but a look of resignation crosses his face and he drops his bow ... only to draw his rusty looking short sword and swing in desperation at the snake directly behind him. Surprisingly, he gets in a good stab on Ssarpenoth, his sword doing quite a bit of harm to the summoned creature as it pierces through scaly skin.

Rubin doesn't appear to do much - he is still getting the feeling back in his legs.

Everyone is up.

Lutgar is astounded by the lack of care to his weapons this man has. He finds it very upsetting an insult to weaponsmiths all across the land.

Well looks like he be deciding to fight, he had his chance to give up. Now we be takin him da hard way.

Lutgar raises his bow ignoring any please from Kestrel or any others as he takes aim at RedLeafs head, He decides a head shot would be too difficult with one of the summoned creatures partially in his way. Also he's hoping to take him in alive so that they can turn him over to the Kingpriest or perhaps to that knight.

He vies down the arrow shaft viewing a portion of Redleaves arm near the elbow, it is the arm he is wielding his poor uncared for weapon. Reorx release da soul of dat weapon from thee grapse of evil unworthy hands.

Releasing the bowstring the arrow flies but catches a slight updraft that Lutgar failed to compensate for and the arrow veers off plunking into a wall before shattering into splinters.

Called shot to redleafs arm attack/damage (1d20+10=13, 1d8+7=11)

Taither was aghast at the turn of events. Red Leaf had aided them in the attack against Brack, was his reward to now be death? There was also something not right in his actions. Why would he drop his bow, his most effective weapon, if he was so determined to kill?

Taither moved up beside the elf. "Surrender. Now. There is no need for further bloodshed," said the paladin, his flaming scimitar raised, but the blow not swung.

Although her brother is a forgiving soul, Seraphi happens to feel more like Lutgar in this case.  She was already annoyed at Red Leaf's summoning of the infernal swarm and then when he refuses to surrender that only makes things worse.  Particularly when the savage looking elf turns to attack Ssarpenoth whom was only sent there to prevent a retreat.

Angered but still unwilling to become a common murderer, Seraphi send her summoned friend a new set of orders.  "Subdue him Ssarpenoth, the painful way if it so pleases you."  The giant constrictor snake is all to willing to return a little pain after suffering the painful wounds delivered at Red Leaf's hands.  The snake lashes out, its huge fangs slicing into Red Leaf's free arm.  Blood wells up from the bite and Ssarpenoth immediately does its best to latch on and attempt to coil the elf up into a choking embrace

Ssarpenoth Bite = 1d20+7=26
Damage = 1d4+7=10
Grab CMB = 1d20+11=16

Seraphi watches her summoned friend carry on the attack and is more than satisfied with the snake's progress.  Although she has a wand or two that would be of use she decides against trying to aim into the melee.  Instead, she puts away the wand in her hand and instead draws out a length of rope from her pack.  If the fool Kagonesti is smart enough to surrender they'll be needing this to tie him up.

Ssarpenoth gets a good bite in on Red Leaf and the Kagonesti recoils briefly as a good chunk is torn off his arm. However, the snake does not manage to get a good grab in on the Kagonesti as he wiggles free from the coils.

He is looking hurt but could potentially still fight if he desired. However, the look on his face shows utter defeat. His rusty short sword drops to the ground. It doesn't look like it's due to injuries but rather a genuine surrender.

{Elven} "Morgion forgive me. I surre..." {/Elven}

He begins his surrender but is cut short as his face contorts in what is obviously agonizing pain. The pocmarks on his face and arms swell up, as if they had simply been dormant. They continue to swell and he screams in agony, dropping to his knees. The scream is only cut off by choking as he grasps at his throat in desperation. He looks to Taither in desperation and tries to mouth something. It's unclear what he's trying to say as more gasps for air cause him to choke up bile.

He is clearly dieing.

Heal DC 10: Show

There doesn't appear to be much that could be done for him outside of magical healing: this fast of a progression of the disease is clearly unnatural. With the choking you would estimate perhaps twenty seconds at most before he is dead.

Knowledge Religion DC 10: Show

It is not uncommon to hear rumors of those who serve Morgion (god of disease) to only do so as a desperate attempt at a reprieve from a fatal disease. The rumors also mention that should they fail in serving their god the disease will immediately resume its course.

Kestrel’s mouth goes from open shock to concern as Red Leaf begins to choke, the pockmarks on his face swelling and making it look like he is going to burst puss and goop all over the place. It is clear the elf is not well and in fact is dying at a rapid pace. “What did you do?” Kestrel’s cry is followed by her quickly running over to the elf’s side and poking him with the wand she still has in her hand.

She will attempt to heal him with the wand, though she isn’t sure it will help.

While the wand's healing does seem to improve Red Leaf's condition momentarily, it seems to be a futile effort. Part of the snake bite wound closes from the healing but is quickly covered by new pockmarks. Continually using the wand might buy him a few minutes at best, but would appear to be futile in the long run.

He does look up at the kender when she pokes him, and his eyes convey a moment's thanks before he closes them from the agony.

"A blessing upon thee but I cannot remove this curse," softly spoke Taither at the unvoiced plea in the other's eyes, as the affliction consumed Red Leaf.

"Do not come close or touch Red Leaf unless you have some means of curing diseases," quickly remarked the half-elf to the others. "I am immune."

Taither swiftly spoke to Red Leaf bending close to his mouth, "Can you speak? Is there something we should know about this Morgion you mentioned?"

Taither looked with pity on the man now paying the price for whatever service the god demanded of him.
