Marching Order
Show
Vesper, Arayan, Raks, Sefu (torch), Elessar (bow at ready). For the first ten minutes of walking, there's really only one way to head to the Docks from the Grand Lodge. Then options arise, and Elessar and Raks have to spend a few minutes looking for signs of Jerval's passage. Maybe the initiate had run into trouble using the usual route to the Docks, or maybe he just wanted to impress Ambrus by trying to take a shortcut to get there even faster, but for some reason he had detoured off into the smaller tunnels that branch off the main sewer lines. Taking up the trail again, more slowly, the group follows a set of muddy bootprints through the winding tunnels. On the bright side, the small rivulet of stagnant runoff isn't even big enough to hide a baby alligator -- and the rats scurry quickly out of the light of the torch to cower in the darkness. The rivulet ends at an intersection with a perpendicular tunnel filled with a mass of filthy water and nauseatingly-colored mud. The footprints continue in the mud to the east. OOC: Reflex saves, please . Map up soon.

-Quotes from The Rebellion of the Four players- alright, first round and our leader crited on our defender. Go team. Those were, in order, my facial expressions after reading Talis's move.-Dark9174 after A slick move by the enemy swordmage (I apologize ahead of time, guys. I hit the only PC I was almost certain I'd miss. I shall join Grunn in the "I've critted on my teammate" corner of shame, now.)- TheDracon

Map, Roll Init and new PerceptionVesper watches the shadows for any sign of trouble, and with Arayan right behind her she steps into the larger sewer line -- and falls right through the sludge into a dark, dank pit. Arayan tries to leap back as he sees her fall, but the slime and grime makes his attempt at acrobatics turn into an inglorious descent on his behind, and he lands beside Vesper with a bone-crunching thud (4 dmg each).

Ack! A 'gator's got me! The priest hits bottom hard enough to bounce. Nevertheless, his usual awareness quickly clues him in that drowning at the bottom of a sewer might not be his most pressing challenge. Perception, Init: 1d20+3=17, 1d20-1=14 I pressume that we're both prone?

Initiative=16; Perception=23Sefu starts to laugh as he sees the girl and the cleric slip in the mud, but as their heads drop out of sight he realizes that they've done a bit more than just slip in the mud. He looks forward cautiously, wondering if this was the same thing that happened to Derris. Perhaps it was just a short muddy pit and they'd find all three of them lying foolishly at the bottom for want of a rope. Something told him this was an optimistic thought.
