In case you are having problems coming up with ideas on how to bar the door, keep in mind that though the latch is accessible form both sides, it is still just one latch. So you could try to use a Thievery check to jam the latch so it can't be moved. Another option would be to jam items between the door and frame so the door cannot be moved. I am hoping that the lack of posts is just from lack of ideas or I did not describe the doors properly and not form loss of players.
Wash: "Yeah well, if she doesn't give us some extra flow from the engine room to offset the burn through, this landing is gonna get pretty interesting."
Mal: "Define interesting."
Wash: "Oh god oh god we're all gonna die?"
Mal: "This is the captain. We have a...little problem with our engine sequence, so we may experience some slight turbulence and then...explode."

The change to skill challenges sounds great. But I'm not sure I understand the last post... We're still in a fight right? And the doors are still closed?

@Draidden- Ok, I see where he is now, I thought he was in reach of my melee 2 spiked chain, that's why I opted for a melee instead of ranged attack. Normal movement won't get me any closer since I'm in rough terrain. Being a man of the shadows and an assassin by trade, Cross isn't too keen on this guy getting away and possibly raising an alarm, so he's willing to take some risk to stop that hobgoblin.
My other option was ranged attack w/a dagger. My question for you though, is I know it takes a minor action to draw the dagger, but I'm not sure what to do with the chain, realistically it makes sense that I could still hold on to the chain in one hand (just not use it) and still draw a dagger, but I'm not sure that works mechanically. So if that won't be allowed, I'll just use a free action to drop it.
I'll change my standard action to a ranged attack with a dagger (still poisoned strike), provoking an OA from the sharpshooter. If the OA attack hits and the damage is enough to bloody Cross, I'd like to use my immediate interrupt ability to activate Shade Form.
Since I already know that the attack from Cross is a crit, that may seem unfair to change it from melee to ranged, so let me know if you want me to reroll attack and damage. Basically Cross will do what he can to stop that guy from getting away.
Let me know if you're ok with those changes and I'll update my IC post. Thanks.

I have no problem with you holding on to the chain with one hand instead of completely dropping it.
You are lucky in that it just occured to be that the goblin, if it is still alive, will not get an OA as it has a missile weapon in its hands and not a melee weapon.

LMAO - all that fuss, and I ended up using the chain on a different target anyway

What is the status of our other two players? I've not seen any posts from them since I've taken over Cross. Right now, Cross doesn't care which way we go since we have no idea where the prisoners are. I'd like to see some input from the other 2 as well, but if we don't hear from them, maybe we should proceed with Hagurr's "suggestion" of going through the right hand door.

greymouse is on vacation until pretty much the end of the month. I just sent Layasa a PM inquiring as to her where abouts.

I am posting this because I have seen this handled wrong in other games and I think I even hadnled it wrong in this one previously. In the Rules Compendium it states that you get one OA per persons turn in a fight. But I see a lot of people using them as Immediate Interrups which limits you to one a round. Per what I find in the online Compendium Opportunity Attacks are not Immediate Interrupts, but are Opportunity Actions. And you get an Opportunity Action once per persons turn in a round, not once per round.

Notification stopped working again...
I kept having the same problem, but I think I finally figured out why they randomly stop working for me. Sometimes when I get an email alert regarding forum activity, I'll check it from my mobile phone. The problem is I'm usually not logged into the site, so it doesn't refresh the notification for that thread (I think a thread will only notify you once until you visit again).
To get around this sometimes I'll log into the site on my phone or I just remember to visit the thread again while I am logged in (actually, I don't "remember" that's a lie I keep my threads bookmarked and open them all at least once a day). Since I've adopted this, I've had very few problems with the notification system.
I don't know for sure if that's it, but it seems to work for me.
