I couldn't wait and I've been gobbling up the new additions and changes to the characters.  I'll update the submissions list before getting back to the party-planning.

kalis5, you can add Portend Weather (lvl 1) and Control Weather (lvl 14) to the list of rituals available to the Mark of Storms.  Roy is looking very good and I like how he hooks up with the team.

EDTA, is Orianna essentially a warlock with paladin-like powers?  I didn't see a deity anywhere.  If so, she is a very odd duck, and that demon she's channelling is a really nice one.  Healing, protection, all kinds of niceness.   Her story is great, you've got her in a good place to join up and she might still be a hero to some in Droaam, perhaps even the Daughters themselves.

Likewise, Garick "Lo" is looking very good, FallenIrish.  He is just about indispensible to the team as now constituted.  Mechanically, he's awsome, but did you consider the Master Spy paragon path?  I know that takes some of the shine off the daggers, but it fits his methods really well.  That thing that happened, when he left the Dark Lanterns and ended up in Dreadhold, that is priceless story material.

Kahn, I love Desmond, the 5th-dimensional cloak, the walking hardware store, the real-estate mogul.  Just make sure you've got enough residuum to use that array of rituals, great scott!  With that many language slots (7, I think), does he know stonespeach?

Outside_Thinker, Taursa's story needs some work.  Why did her mother die?  The Archivists haven't been war criminals for more than a few years, was she on a mission at the time?   How old is Taursa?  If she was born after the team was founded, she must still be in her twenties, at the oldest.   Given the shady  things she's been doing to get her powers, I'm not sure a family connection is enough to get her on to the team.  Indeed, if she's looking for revenge, Garibaldi wouldn't have her.

Got to go,  thanks for the great stuff!

I've added the rituals you wanted me to. As an airship pilot these might be useful in certain situations. Seems like if we need a quick airship escape I'm the one to call now.

Ha, I'm glad you like it so far!

I'm not clear on how residuum works actually. I thought I would just deduct the cost of the ritual from my gp total when I used it (I mostly play non-magical defenders, this would be my very first time playing a controller). I'm guessing from your comment that I buy residuum. I'll look it up (probably tomorrow). Any idea how much I should have on reserve? Should I go over my rituals?

Regarding the languages, I think he knows 8 including Common:

Common
Giant
Abyssal
Supernal
Primordial
Draconic
Deep Speech
Elven

The idea is that he had to learn these languages to research the planes (I imagine many worthy tomes on the subject might only be found in the languages of the beings that could wield magic efficiently, ie the dragons and giants) and also to communicate with other-wordly beings (that'd be primordial, supernal, abyssal, deep speech, and elven at the moment). If I have room to learn a few more, I was thinking of doing more pragmatic languages like dwarven (the language of the people that handle my money). Stonespeech would be a good one as well but I thought only gnomes could learn it (my former gnome truenamer knew stonespeech in a short-lived campaign). But yes, Desmond is somewhat of a polyglot.

With the houses and apartments, these are not the ones he makes his income off of (those are behind the scenes right?). I specifically purchased these with his money so that they could be made use of throughout the game if need be.

I edited in some background into the first post with his build summary and picture in it. The background is not finished yet, but since you said you'd be going over the builds, I figured I should have something up. What is left to do is more of what happened after they were betrayed, so what is there now is most of his history before the Archivists.

@Khan:
Its looks like Theebacht will have some ongoing inquiries for Desmond's professional interests. If you understand why and agree after reading Theebacht's background then I'm letting you know that I'm could use an idea or two on how we should approach and play-role this.

Kahn, I use rituals too so don't worry. There's a component cost which you obviously know about, that's the cost for all the components required to use the ritual. Each ritual uses up one total component cost, so just say that you have enough components for blank uses of the ritual and deduct the total from your money. Simple as that but I can see how you might be confused.

Yeah, that's what I was going for. I couldn't think of a story I liked that would reconcile established tiefling groups with a "paladiny" backstory. That, and the Venom Lords in addition to all that is potentially going on in Droaam looked like it would offer a lot of potential for stories, at least more than what I was coming up with.

The powers don't even need to be that unusual, when looked at in a certain light. I see Orianna being similar to a Vestige Pact warlock (from Arcane Power) where she is channeling some powerful force from the past, in this case her ancestor. Most of her powers are mechanically oriented towards marking a lot of enemies, and reinforcing her toughess.

Flavor-wise, I'd see that as less the demon being nice, and more it being arrogant and wanting to pick fights. This, of course, would be a counterbalance to the more restrained Orianna, who has found the way to make those powers benefit her allies. Basically, her finding ways to tap into the vestige to allow her and her allies to make it out alive.

Glad you enjoy some of the story. I wanted to keep it undetermined to make for more potential interactions. I could see people being proud of Orianna's action in Droaam still. I could also see it going that the Daughters or her family want her dead for being a smear on Droaam or the clan. I could also see it that they would be the first to want to see the Archivists cleared of their crimes, so that she would be a hero they could exploit. Interesting to see how it would develop if given the chance.

I'm glad that Garrick has found a niche in the team so far.  I did think about Master Spy for a while creating the character but for me it just didn't seem to be enough of a benefit compared to what he gains from Daggermaster.  Also personality wise Daggermaster will gel better with the character when it actually comes to the roleplaying.  Indeed how the infamous changeling became a guest and the Dreadhold Hotel is a good story.  If you want I can add it into the history or it can be kept under wraps until its needed for a story arc in the rping.  Just lemme know either way.  Any thing else I can do to help move the character along?

You as well VoyRager! I promise I plan on adding more background, but I've got an emergency trip to Orlando I'm rushing out the door for. I hope to post more after the weekend.

Happy holidays everyone!
