Puzzled, Taraxis says right next to the orc's ear "WAS THAT ANOTHER LANGUAGE? PERHAPS WE HIT HIM ON THE HEAD TOO HARD AND HE IS SPEAKING IN GIBBERISH."

Chortling, Winnick translates, "He said he don't wanna talk to us." Addressing the orc, he continues, "Listen, chap, you've hit the blinds until you tell us what bugger hired you to blag us. I know a random Hive alley robbery when I see one, and I'll be a vrock's arse if that's what this was. Spit it out, and mayhap I'll convince Mr. Taraxis here to let you keep all your limbs."
The orc hurtles a brief outburst of insults which are not repeatable in pleasant company back at Winnick. He snarls and says, "I'm right sure they're peeping all this, so I'm good as scragged in any weather. I could give two birds whether your mate does the quartering or the blood what gave me the gig. You want somethin' of me, you're gonna have ta sweeten that offer."

"How about we bring you with us when we leave? I suspect we won't be staying in... Sigil, was it? Not for very long anyway."

"That would certai - er, yeah, bring him with us, could work..." Kraki quickly realizes that the orc might still think of him as a big dumb rock-man brute, so he dumbs down his speech patterns as he does when around strangers that it might be helpful to have underestimating him. "Probly gotta up the watch to keep an extra eye on him..."

"How about we bring you with us when we leave? I suspect we won't be staying in... Sigil, was it? Not for very long anyway."
Winnick leans in close to Trellis, whispering into where he assumes what function as their ears would be. "For the books, it's pronounced 'Siggul,' not 'Sijil.' I'm sure makin' dumb is part of your game on this fella, but I ought to caution ya against playin that card in the streets. There's folk'll kill you for less."
The orc turns his head around what little he can in an effort to peer around contemptuously at his captors, flashing a particularly nasty sneer in the direction of Trellis.
"Yer barmy, eh? Out-o-townin' ain't exackiticly my aim. Unless you clueless clods got some enterprise what's gonna line me pockets. Ain't you primes been 'round long enough to see the dark of it, or do I gotta count the beads for you? You want chant in this town, you gotta pay the music. Milk for the milkman. Savvy?"
Something seems to occur to him as he looks at the various heavily armed members of the group. Craning his neck up to glance at the massive... thing... holding him in place, the orc breaks into a wicked grin. "Right, the way I sees it, there's a simple path out the maze. I'mma spell this out real slow and simple for you berks." He pauses, licking his lips, then begins again, speaking slowly in a very low voice, but with a mockery of Liandra's accent. "I tell you who booked me to nick you, and you help me get his goods. Bastard owes me for this job anyway... easy marks me arse. Yeah... equal cut of his bright-n-shinies should make nice in trade for the information I give ya. Do we have an accord?"

Straining to understand the orc through the slang, Taraxis offers "I THINK I UNDERSTOOD HIM THAT TIME. IS REVENGE REALLY WORTH OUR TIME? IF THE BEING RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ATTACK IS LIKELY TO REPEAT THE BEHAVIOR I CAN UNDERSTAND, BUT OTHERWISE IT SEEMS LIKE A PETTY THING TO SPEND EFFORT ON."

"Well he sure has it in for one o' ya," the orc replies with another sneer. "And his kind are apt to hold a grudge."

"Right... that's the thing, if we don't go after 'em now, are they gonna keep comin' after us? Unless we know why, we won't know the answer to that." The group can tell that Kraki's making some attempt to still appear relatively dumb, but still trying to get his point across. No sense leaving a known enemy at their backs, if they have the opportunity to deal with him or her.

Without thinking about it, Alethea absorbs this new manner of speech as the captive tries to make a deal. It's an odd way of talking, but no stranger than she had encountered in some of the more remote regions of the Shadow Marches. The orc's last comment makes her laugh, even as the insinuation gives her pause. "I have yet to meet a 'kind' that doesn't hold a grudge. But if you could be more specific in your details, we might be more open to considering an agreement. As Rocky here pointed out, it would be best not to have an enemy at our backs. But we do have other urgent business."

OoC: Hey All
Show
Soudou said I could jump in at this point. It may take me a little time to get re-familiar with my character. I made her awhile ago for this game and haven't had a chance to play her yet. Plus, I believe I might have forgotten all the 3.5 rules!
Oh, and I can change the speech color if it is conflicting with someone else.
I was gonna have her follow you for a while because that seemed to make the most sense. But then I decided I might as well introduce her right away without wasting time. So sorry if this is a bit forced. From a darkened windowsill not far away, Divinity relaxes with one leg, covered to the thigh by a heavy black boot, hanging over the edge and her back reclined against the window frame. She watches the whole affair with amusement. Her blood red eyes flicker back and forth from the shadows of her perch. Her long black hair is all but invisible within the darkness and stands in stark contrast to her very pale skin. One hand fidgets idly with a crystal vial hanging from a chain around her neck. She is slightly impressed by the winners skill, The strangers made quick work of those losers. Not bad. Maybe worth talking to, though that big lion looking thing seems like a real bore. The little invisible pixie half-listens to their conversation with the ugly orc captive. The questioning is unimportant to her, just some light entertainment. However her ears perk up and she becomes much more interested when the group talks about leaving Sigul. Hmm, maybe this lot could be of use. I can't afford to stay here long. And traveling alone is getting a bit tiresome. Plus, if Mammon did catch up with me, with the help of this group, I might actually stand a chance against him. She regards the group for a short time longer trying to make up her mind. Finally she comes to a decision. What the hell, I can always ditch this lot if I get tired of them. But that big one is gonna have to lighten up a little. She wiggles her fingers on one hand and whispers a word quietly. Then she uses her arcane power to pick up a small pebble from the street. Her magic hand carries it above the towering construct and drops the pebble on its head. Which clangs harmlessly off it's tough exterior. The almost hollow metal clang makes Div laugh quietly out loud. Her laugh is almost child like, though their is a cruelness around the edges of it. Born from years living in the harsh reality of life. She lets the magical hand disappear then flies silently down towards the group and lets her invisibility drop right in their midst. She says, "Nice work taking care of these thugs. I watched the whole thing. I would have helped, but it didn't look like you needed it."The little pixie keeps talking quickly in her child like voice, not really giving the surprised group much chance to speak. And she keeps flitting quickly back and forth making it hard to get a good look at her. She continues, "My names Divinity." The little pixie suddenly lands lightly on Taraxis's shoulder while she whispers in his ear, "But you can call me Div you big strong thing." She has a feeling her charm may be lost on the construct, but she has fun toying with him anyway. She flits back into the center, continuing without a pause, "I can give you a hand here if you want." She flies over to the captive and trails one finger down the orcs cheek, then under his chin. She purrs, "If you tell these nice people what they need to know, I'd be very grateful." Her little hand pushes his chin up so that he looks straight into her eyes. Eyes that suddenly dilate. The small blood red pupils quickly grow until almost no white remains. She wont be offended if someone stops her. At this point it probably isn't necessary with Alethea's detect thoughts. But this is kinda how Div gets things done. Plus she is trying to prove useful so she can tag along. So unless someone does stop her, she is going to use her Charm Gaze to charm the orc. DC is 23. Will negates. I imagine that holding him captive counts as "threatening" and would provide him a +5 on his save.
