Ok, I'm assuming everyone is ready to head out, and that you are taking the safest but longest route around the hills. If anyone wants to do anything in particular along the way, let me know. The route you would be taking is to cross the bridge out of Darton and then head north, going around the hills. Once you get so that you are north of the western part of the hills, you will head into the hills to go to where the wererat lair was.
After Zilon buys the supplies he wanted and prompts Geldorn to mention that he has a spell for opening doors, the group heads out of town. You quickly leave the road after crossing the bridge, and then start to head north. You travel through open, uninhabited lands. At first there are trees and bushes near the river, but once you leave the river to go around the hills, there only occasional small trees and isolated shrubs. You encounter nothing but the occasional small animal while travelling for four days, finally getting near to where you would want to enter the hills on the fourth night out from town.
It would take you another half day from here to enter the hills, find the wererats' hill, and then climb to the top to where the entrance is. I'll assume you would want to camp as opposed to travelling through the night and reaching the top of the hills rather tired. However, if you don't want to camp here, let me know.
Anyway, if you do camp here, let me know any precautions you might want to take and who would be on watch duty during the night. Since the elves in the group only need 4 hours of trance, they can split the watch duties, but if anyone else wants to be on watch, let me know.
Also, anyone who would be on watch during the about 3 hours into the time when you are sleeping, please roll spot checks (but please don't use that information to influence who is on watch).
If anyone had wanted to do something on the way here, still feel free to let me know.

darn it I forgot to read my spells, I forgot to get a bell and a silver wire for the alarm spell. oh well maybe I'll remember it next time..so Zilon will just keep magic fang handy for now, I think I haven't changed that yet.
Zilon finds a suitable camp disliking how out in the open they are. Well break out your winter blankets, cause I highly advice no fire tonight. We should also break up in pairs to sleep close for more warmth. Any of you are welcome to cuddle on the other side of Eatumm, he'd enjoy it.
Removing his pack he sets up a sleeping spot and eats. I'll get some sleep now, so wake me in about six hours so that I may join on watch.

Zilon does not need to buy a bell and a silver wire in order to cast Alarm. Those are the arcane focus for the spell, meaning they are items used by arcane spellcasters casting that spell. Zilon, however, is a divine caster, meaning he uses a divine focus. A divine focus is the same for all spells that require a divine focus, so you don't need to carry different ones for different spells (occasionally spells require even divine casters to use another focus, but those are noted in the descriptions). For a cleric or paladin, a divine focus is a holy symbol of the deity worshiped by that character, but for a druid or ranger, it might be something else, like a special natural object (perhaps a piece of wood that has naturally grown into a particular shape . . . feel free to specify any sort of object you think would be appropriate). Since Magic Fang also requires a divine focus, you should assume you are carrying one.
Also, for arcane casters, they can assume that any focus without a listed price is included in their spell component pouch, except for anything clearly too large to fit in a spell component pouch.

I assume Anne will take first watch - it will take her forever to get that new armor off, anyway. (Speaking of which, please note that Anne's ACs are now 21 (normal), 11 (touch), 20 (flat).) Anne is nervous being back near the were-rat lair, and keeps her senses focused for anything: Spot Check: 1d20+5=24

With Anne on first watch, Ithil zones out into the elf trance.
OOC: I've been working out of town and will continue to be away about half of each week until I find a new job or move to another office. I should have internet access, but if I'm holding up the game please keep going.
Game On!

After travelling for a few days, Zilon finds a good place to camp for the night on the edge of the hills to the north of where the wererat lair is. Anne volunteers to take the first turn on watch. About three hours into the night, her keen elven eyes notice three humanoid figures heading towards you from the direction of the hills. You aren't sure, but you think the figures might be hobgoblins. It also isn't clear yet if they have seen you or not. Currently, the figures are about 200 feet away, with mostly open but somewhat rocky terrain between you and them.
Let me know what you want to do.
