The rage still in his eyes, Arglas appears unphased by the guards sudden surrender. He steps towards the nearest guard, but bumps into Andrae - which is just enough to give him pause.
Tend to your friends - they might yet be saved. he growls at the two remaining. Turning to the others, he seems barely able to stand and indeed reaches out a hand to prop himself against the wall.
Come now - we must hasten and get out of here if we're going to save the founder.
Is that status in the last post current? I should have more than 3 temp hp yes? We should certainly use some healing surges here - but Arglas won't be the one to admit it...

wow...looks like I missed the best part of the battle while I was away.
"There...was it so difficult?" Finally getting upstairs, Velorin lets out a breath seeing the guards surrender. "Had you done it before, no one would have had to get hurt."
He nods when Arglas speaks, but looks at him a little worried. "We should spend a minute resting, though. We are all in pretty bad shape. You!"he suddenly points at guard 3, "can you get the doors open? We still want to help the founder, even after her guards treated us so bad."
note: Velorin remembers just fine of the secret passage the maids spoke of. But he doesn't want the guards to know and if there is an alternative, maybe faster, way to get out, he doesn't want to miss it.

Mostly current the damage is. Geldan had the temp hp, and would have had 2 more but I didn't know if it stacked... Since enough (and the right ones) of the guards went down combat was over so I didn't check.
I also couldn't remember if Arglas had spent his second wind (for future combats I'm going to have a wiki page instead of notes at home, that you guys can update with that stuff), but Lucan spent a first aid action to allow Arglas to use a second wind.
Ah - gotcha. I suppose the Temp hp doesn't matter anyway since we're likely taking a quick short rest if we can. If we don't though - Arglas should have the 10 temp hp from his Unstoppable ability used last round.

Sorry I saw the temp hit points when I was updating, but forgot about it when I was fixing the chart (which lost it's formating).
You don't want to save the Founder, Guard6 replies. You want to cause harm to our priest, and when we stood in your way you attacked us. Doing our jobs and you attacked. These were my friends and you killed some of them for trying to bring you to justice. So go ahead kill us too, we won't help you.
As guard3 is about to answer Velorin's question guard6 speaks up once again. DO NOT HELP THEM! You hold your tongue. Guard3 looks over briefly to his partner and simply hangs his head instead of answering.
Lucan bends to see what can be done to save some of the guards. What he finds is startling. On two of the guards (guard7, and guard5) are tatoos of an eyeball in the palm of a hand. Perhaps there is an evil force at work here. These two bear the symbol of Vecna on their flesh.
OOC: hoy, sorry if I was gone for too long, it took me some time to get everything straightened out, darn forums are screwed up to me, what is the situation?
"Doing your job. Sure, your job is obviously that of stopping people from helping. That explains a lot about our country." Velorin replies to guard6, rather stiffly. "Anyway, I wasn't talking with you."
About to repeat the question to guard3, he stops at Lucan's words, a bit surprised, but maybe not too much. "Vecna. I don't really know much about the gods, but I am pretty sure he is not a nice one. So is this what the vizier has turned to?" He looks at both guards, then settles his gaze on guard3. "You don't really have the look of the servant of an evil god. If you help us we could try and put an end to all this madness. And nobody else needs to get hurt...no, not even your priest." he adds glancing at the other guard, "I still hope that he may be redeemed."
And, welcome back Lord_raziere! Glad you could make it.
Geldan, pleased that the fight is over mutters his refrain to his God, Avandra, "Plus sa change". Recognising that one of the guards seems less sure of himself than the other he addresses guard3.
"Look, you obviously don't feel comfortable around your comrade and it seems that maybe some rogue guards have infiltrated the service. The mark of Vecna is not a sign of loyalty to the founder. Perhaps, if we keep your colleague quiet you'd perhaps tell us what we need to know to get after the Vizier and rescue Founder Neelani."
He moves into a protective position between the two guards as he attempts to loosen the reticent guard's tongue.

History, Appearance, Personality Appearance- Lucan is physically fairly average for a human, though his ascetic streak has left him with a somewhat gaunt appearance. He has olive skin, and his eyes are an unremarkable brown. Lucan's hair is dark brown bordering on black. He tries to keep his face and head clean shaven, but, while generally well-kept, he is not obsessive about maintaining his hair so often ends up sporting short black stubble over his face and head. He has sharp facial features. Lucan proudly displays his devotion to Pelor. Over his matte, dark-gray scale mail, he wears a dark red cloak emblazoned with the golden sun of Pelor on the back and sunbursts at the throat. He also carries a small steel shield lacquered red with Pelor's golden sun in the center. His holy symbol is displayed prominently on a heavy golden chain worn about his neck.
Personality- Lucan is the product of a genteel upbringing. He is generally courteous, well-mannered, and soft-spoken. He is also quite slow to anger and pass judgment, but it is very difficult to regain his good favor once it is lost. He is generally compassionate to those who he views as less well-off than himself and is quick to come to their aid, especially where his healing skills can be of use. He is also a bit of an ascetic, forgoing meals where possible and donating any savings to the poor. Lucan is mistrustful of many sources of authority which he suspects of catering to the needs of the few and powerful at the expense of the underclasses. He is also prideful and looks down on those whom he sees as not as enlightened as he is and who seek after their own selfish desires. At some level, he recognizes the hypocrisy of his stance, especially given his valuable possessions and the small wealth he has amassed, but he overcomes this self-doubt by telling himself his motives are pure and that he does more than so many others.
History- Lucan's father is a successful merchant, and his mother is the youngest daughter of a minor lord who could not hope to marry her to a better position than wealth. Lucan is the fourth (and youngest) son of the couple. He was raised to serve in his father's business, but with three elder brothers, he was unlikely to inherit a substantial portion of the business and would likely have been passed over for even his elder brothers' children. In addition, while he was trained to evaluate various commodities and witnessed his father and brothers haggling from his early years, he never had the affinity for these activities as his father or brothers and had a strong distaste for the deceptions he felt were an inherent part of his father's success. On the other hand, he always felt at home among the clerics at the temple of Pelor where his father paid lipservice and gave token donations. He respected the clerics he saw for the service they gave the sick and the poor and spent what time he could learning history, healing, and religion from these teachers. When Lucan came of age, he told his father he wished to make his own name among the followers of Pelor. While his father disagreed and thought his son was being naive and foolhardy, his father recognized he had little aptitude for the family business and also respected his son's desire to make his own way in the world. Thus, his father supported his taking his vows and gifted Lucan with the cloak and armor he uses (and are Lucan's most valued possessions) when Lucan took his vows.
After taking his vows, Lucan has served in various low level positions in the church. He started as a temple healer and was then employed as a healer/battle cleric during a series of goblin raids where he gained a lasting hatred of the creatures and their cruelty. Most recently, he has taken the role of wandering cleric trying to alleviate suffering where he finds it. This has brought him to Relkingham where he has taken residence. He was incensed at Founder Neelani's initial plan and is relieved that she has agreed to reconsider. However, he is still wary and wonders what evil influence led her to propose such a barbaric plan in the first place.
OOC: (Finally! I'll make a separate post for IC stuff since I do not want this getting too large.)
