Here is my submission. Should be done unless something looks to be off about it. Pieter of ThaliostShow

Pieter grew up on the streets of Thaliost in the wake of Thrane annexing the city. He never knew his father or his family, growing up as one of the numerous war-orphans in the city instead. Throughout his youth, he survived through whatever means he could and much of his youth was spent on the streets as a part of gang of other homeless children. In this group, he often acted as a protector to the weaker children as he was more than decent in the scraps of his youth. He may not have been a leader amongst the gangs, but he certainly was a force that allowed as many to make it out of that situation as possible.
Growing up in such a place, it is only natural that he harbored resentment to the nation of Thrane, who was being held responsible by most in the city for the situation it found itself during the war. For this reason, he took up service with Aundair once he was old enough. Having survived the harsh conditions of a captured city as a child, Pieter was well-suited to the rigors required of a scout, as were his abilities to track and keen senses honed through a lifetime of survival. It was once outside of the city and in the wilds that he discovered an otherwise unknown connection to nature, a serendipitous occurrence has his new talents only served to aid him as a scout.
Time after the War After the war’s conclusion, Pieter returned to Thaliost. However, things were far worse than the city he left years before, as the continued Thrane hold over Thaliost following Thronehold only served to inflame tensions in the city. The appointment of Archbishop Solgar Dariznu was no helping matter, either, as the end result of the crackdowns he imposed left most in the city the worse for wear. This was the situation Pieter returned to, and he joined up with the rebellious factions opposed to not only the tyrannical abuses of Dariznu, but also of Thrane’s dominion.
This is where Pieter ran into trouble. Dariznu’s abuses were widely known, but the record of his abuses were not reaching the right ears, so Pieter and others set to gathering what information they could to inflame the tensions in the city to see the priest ousted. It was while trying to employ his skills as a scout instead as a spy that he was caught by Dariznu’s men, but he was able to escape as a result of his primal abilities. Since that day, he has been a hunted man as Dariznu still seeks reprisal, less for what Pieter did or found out, but more because he did it. Thaliost is dangerous for him now, so once more he has had to set out in the world, this time to find allies that would help him return and undo the injustices in his home. In truth, however, his time on the run is giving him time to think about just what led him to this situation, and he is starting to realize that maybe his future doesn’t need to lie in his past.
Pieter is still a fairly young man, although a hard life on the streets and in the wilderness have both done their parts to harden his features. He is only of average height and build and doesn’t otherwise have noteworthy marks or scars. He wears his hair long but otherwise keeps it covered and doesn’t wear a beard. His clothing and armor are more functional for travel than overly protective, owing much to the fact that when he fights he does so in a form other than his own and his time spent as a scout.
Personality-wise, Pieter is prone to use humor to disarm situations, mostly owing to his experiences in youth. For someone who spent much of his time alone along desolate paths during the war, he is a fairly easy-going guy who enjoys spending time with people. This too is a holdover from his youth, as survival in Thaliost as an orphan was often dependant on having a few dozen others at your back. He isn’t exactly the brightest of individuals, but he has good sense enough to avoid dangerous situations, or at least enough wherewithal and hardiness to walk away from them, often by not fighting fair. However, where he runs into the most problems is in situations where his friends are in trouble. He detests a bully and often gets in over his head when trying to deal with such situations.
Sons of Thaliost: This is a rebellious faction in Thaliost dedicated to the ousting of Dariznu and Thrane influences from the city. This is but one of the organizations dedicated to such a task, but they are the only one with recent successes. In light of the failure of Thronehold to free the city, there has been a decidedly hostile undercurrent to the group, focusing more on revolution rather than a peaceful solution that would see Thaliost to Aundair. Pieter is on the run following the war due to his involvement with this group, although if he knew about the groups anarchistic bent, he might not have taken up service with them.
Aundair: Pieter is, depending on what is going on, either employed as a scout or is a veteran of the Last War in service to Aundair. Just what this would mean for him is fairly sketchy, however, as most of the work he did was beyond the movement of troops or regiments, and scouts didn’t have long lives in the Last War. Still, there are some solider or other scouts that could be potential, if tenuous connections for him to call on if needed.
Solgar Dariznu and his forces: Corrupt ruler in Thaliost now, famed for his abuses of the people. After the war, Pieter is trying to evade reprisal from him and his forces, having infiltrated his operations in an attempt to get information to assist in ousting the priest. What Pieter doesn’t know is the information he was getting was preliminary work to set up an assassination of the priest. Dariznu is aware of the implications of what Pieter was trying to find, so making an example of him and the other conspirators within the Sons of Thaliost would understandably be a big deal for the priest.
So, ThataHasalaq is a Psion. Can she have a ritual or 2 for her starting bonus item? If so: What value or level of ritual can she have?
As I had in the submission post that people without class tool or theme tools get a Healing potion, I will have to think on that. I'll have a decision hopefully soon.
Healing potion would be fine too. I just though a ritual would be more flavorful.

I was thinking that I would like to playa warforged that was purchased by House Lyrandar as guard and craftsmen for one of thier new flying ships. That would make me rather young, about 8, and am not sure if that would be problem. I would want him to be a hybrid artificer|warlord, he got the warlord training from learning to lead the crew and was build with artificer part of it.
For a contact I would want to use the captain of the ship and some people scattered around the ports of the world. If any wants to play the child of the captain who left for adventure I would love to accompany him on his quests as I try to gain an understanding of the "human" condition.
We'll even the Lhazaarites probably fought for their freedom at some point or contributed to the war in some fashion. But no that doesn't have to be were the stuff came from. I was just using it as an example to say you all have "experience". You still need some type of tie to the Last War though, as the first part of the first adventure has you running a mission for a military or some independent faction. I'll go over it more once I have a party put together.
With the backround I currently have he did spend time working with the Cloudreavers, and in general was a pirate for awhile. I'm not entirely sure of the Cloudreavers' participation in the war, though, so tell me if I'll need to add in a stronger connection.
Edit: Also, if I have thievery as a class skill from my background then can I still take thieves tools as my class item?
Unfortunantly I am going to withdraw from consideration in this game. I don't have much time for another game. Also, I just don't have the grasp on Eberron right now to be able to make a character really fit in.
Have fun all.

For the setting KayneRahl what major events have transpired thus far in the timeline? For instance are we to assume The Mourning has already occurred by this point where everyone is meeting in Sharn?

Sorry to hear that, but if things change in the near future feel free to try again.
For the setting KayneRahl what major events have transpired thus far in the timeline? For instance are we to assume The Mourning has already occurred by this point where everyone is meeting in Sharn?
To the Mourning ...Yes and No, the meeting itself will take place after the first premade adventure I'm going to run. So while the meeting is in Sharn 4 years after the Mourning you'll be jumping back pretty much into the Day of Mourning as I run the first premade.
As for other major events, nothing that hasn't been covered in one of the many source books out there... If anything is to occur now, its gonna be either centered around the PCs or they may have to investigate it... well if they want to.
Edit: Also, if I have thievery as a class skill from my background then can I still take thieves tools as my class item?
It sure can depending on which class gave you it...Artificer I can see... Rogue of course....Warlock I would have to think about it.... To be honest if you can see yourself having it as class tool then there's a good chance that I will too.
To the rest don't go overboard trying to justify thieves tools, and etc... If I think its an added feature that's getting abused I'll remove it to make things easier.

The warforged idea sounds promising, and his age is not a problem as I view that sentient warforged started popping up around 968 to present 994 YK so anything under 30 is no problem while getting older would mean it was a possible prototypes.
As for contacts I'm leaving who, what, and their relationship to your character up to you. I'm just looking for possible hooks, informants for later on.
Alador, level 1 Human, Wizard (Arcanist) Arcane Implement Mastery: Tome of Readiness Human Power Selection: Bonus At-Will Power Background: Lhazaar Principalities (Thievery class skill) Theme: Scholar Languages: Common, Dwarven, Elven
FINAL ABILITY SCORES Str 10, Con 16, Dex 14, Int 20, Wis 14, Cha 13.
STARTING ABILITY SCORES Str 10, Con 16, Dex 14, Int 18, Wis 14, Cha 13.
Alador's appearance is very rough. He has scraggly, medium-length dark brown hair (with some scattered gray) and grizzled whiskers from only occasional shaving. He has a scar across his cheek from his days as a pirate, and multiple smaller scars on his hands from thieving mishaps. He is a little on the tall side, standing 6' 1", and has an average build. He wears a very worn long brown coat over a simple tunic and slacks. He typically has a serious demeanor, though sometimes he can appear noticeably annoyed with his surroundings. He can always be seen with a satchel that contains his tome and spellbook, though he rarely is seen with them out of the satchel when not in combat.
Alador is not one for formalities, and he has a tendency to appear annoyed when around people. This often causes people to assume that he is not very sociable, but in reality he just has little tolerance for people he feels are not on his intellectual level. Being smarter than most people he met in his life caused him to become arrogant over the years, and now he cares little for conversation with common folk. The people he used to embrace as his own kind - thieves, pirates, etc. - now seem beneath him. He is not above stealing or killing, he only sees the ones who most often use these skills as too simple-minded to really get anywhere from it.
Despite his general serious attitude Alador has a soft spot for children. In particular, he feels a kinship with the poor children who have to steal to survive like he did, and he will often go out of his way to help them obtain something, or to teach them more advanced thieving techniques. For him it is the least he can do to help, even if the children will most likely grow into the kind of people he has grown to despise.
Alador's primary goal in life is to find the treasures of Tempest Isle and to take them for himself. For him it is the ultimate challenge, and will make him a legend throughout the pirating community - the person who managed to survive the mysterious storms and claim perhaps the most sought-after treasure in Khorvaire. Everything he does leads back to this goal in some way or other.
Alador was born in a small village on Cape Far, in the Lhazaar Principalities. His family was poor, as were many in the area, and much of his childhood was spent stealing to get by. Early on in his life he was sent off to be a deckhand for a merchant ship, where he worked for a few years. During his time on the ship he heard constant rumors spouted by the sailors, but a common one that always piqued his curiosity was the rumor of untold riches on Tempest Isle. He had never seen the isle, but he assumed the stories of endless storms were just exaggeration on the parts of the superstitious sailors.
When he was 15, the merchant ship he had been working on at the time was caught in a violent storm on the way to Cliffscrape, and it ended up straying very close to the Tempest Isle. Alador was awestruck by the reality of the isle, having not believed the stories until that point in time. As he stared, though, the rest of the crew was struggling to control the ship in the fierce weather conditions. He finally realized the trouble right as it hit a large rock and began to sink. Following the example of most of the sailors, Alador jumped overboard and found a piece of the hull to hang on to.
After a day or so he was picked up by a group of pirates, and, after stripping him of his possessions, they threw him in the brig. Since he had always been a cunning individual, Alador managed to escape the brig and almost made it off of the ship before he was caught. The captain was impressed with his skills, and gave him two options; stay on board and work for him, or be shot on sight. Alador chose the former and began his long career as a pirate.
His captain was a nice enough man for a pirate, and had high hopes for Alador. However, Alador only really cared about going to the Tempest Isle to try to find the treasures that were rumored to be buried there. He was told he was crazy, but he poured himself into finding out about all he could about the isle. He would ask the other pirates what they had heard, and became convinced that there was some sort of magic at work.
With this in mind, he took every opportunity he could to read up on magic. This was definitely not common for simple seafaring men, but Alador was no simple seafaring man. He had always been the inquisitive type, it's how he survived such a poor childhood in a region so riddled with thieves and murderers. Alador slowly began to pick up some magical abilites from the tomes he read (most having been stolen or plundered from mages they encountered), and began using them whenever he thought they would be useful. He figured that if he learned enough about magic, perhaps eventually he would be powerful enough to stop the storms on Tempest Isle long enough for him to find and claim its riches.
His newfound magical abilities proved useful in their raids, leading the captain to begin intentionally targeting mages. Alador's desire to go to Tempest Isle had slowly worn off on him, and he was beginning to believe that it might actually be possible with a mage on his side. He became more lenient with Alador in regards to basic duties, instead allowing him to spend more time studying the magic tomes they had acquired.
As the years went by, Alador became the most formidable person on the ship. Few encounters they engaged in were a challenge with his magical abilities, and he grew bored of the constant pillaging and plundering. He felt it was getting them nowhere, so he pressured the captain to begin the trip to Tempest Isle. He complied, against the wishes of the rest of the crew, and set sail towards the island. The other crewmembers were not happy. They did not have faith in Alador's talents like the captain did, and they did not fully trust him. They conspired mutiny and tried to take over the ship, and in defense Alador conjured up a whirlwind that threw the mutineers overboard. However, with only the two still left on board there was no way to sail. The ship drifted aimlessly for days before finally running aground on Krag.
From here the two made their way for Port Krez. Alador was already known by some in the pirating community, so he had no real trouble establishing a place for himself in this town of outlaws. He was determined to make it to Tempest Isle, but he figured that if we was going to make anymore attempts then he'd need to be more prepared. He decided to hire out his skills to anyone who wanted a bit of magical deception, or power, at their disposal. Sometimes it was for simple theft, sometimes for more high-profile things. He used his payment to further his research into the arcane, in hopes that he would eventually know all he would ever need to make his trip to Tempest isle a success.
While under the employ of none other than Prince Mika herself, Alador came under the realization that the few sources of arcane knowledge that he occasionally came across in the principalities were not going to be sufficient to accomplish his goal. Prince Mika did not want to release him from her service, however, as she had plans that required his skills. Alador cared little for these plans, and, since he would not get her approval to leave, he would just do so unnoticed. One night he stole some coin and whatever else he could carry, and secretly left her employ. He found someone willing to take him out of Krez, not revealing his reasons, and began to make his way for Khorvaire proper.
Now, at 43, he has managed to reach Sharn and is on his way to Fairhaven in hopes of finding more information about Tempest Isle, and any magic that might be at work around the isle. He takes what jobs he can to procure the funds needed to continue his travel and research, and is not above stealing, lying, or cheating to get what he wants if it would be beneficial to do so, but for the most part he is done with his criminal past.
Prince Mika Rockface (part of Eberron lore) She is still upset with Alador leaving her employ so suddenly, and without permission. Contact with her would likely result in hostility.
Scag A young halfling, as a boy he was a street urchin who Alador often utilized for finding information in Port Krez. Alador relied on the boy to provide him with various locations he could use to do research unnoticed, as well as with rumors of work as they showed up. He would now be either in his late teens or early twenties, and still remember the wizard Alador as being better company than most of the others in Krez.
Various Merchants, Sea Captains, etc. With such a long career as a pirate, Alador has made enemies of many merchants who make Lhazaar one of their trade routes, and many other seagoers in general. His original captain travelled far and wide to pillage and plunder, so he could have enemies from many parts of Eberron that he doesn't know about. (As in, feel free to add an angry merchant/sea captain if needed who was one of Aladors victims in the past, if you need to/think it would be interesting/etc.)
Whatever part Alador has to do with working for military (as you mentioned in one of the posts) around the time of the mourning can be due to being hired for his skills, as even though he worked out of Krez and mostly for the types of people who spent a lot of time there, there is no reason why he couldn't have made an impression on others in his life enough that they'd want to hire him despite his piracy, especially in Eberron where everyone seems to be against everyone from what I've read so far.
The Mourning didn't have a huge effect on Alador's personality, as his history of piracy already hardened him to most of the evils of the world. However, what it did do is increase his fascination with magic. Originally his study of magic was purely the selfish drive to develop magic strong enough to brave Tempest Isle, but after the Mourning is interest greatened as he realized what magic was truly capable of. He has no desire to use magic so destructive as whatever caused the Mourning, but knowing that such things are possible just serves to further justify his focus on the arcane.
The free item I took was Thieves' Tools, which I also marked in the character sheet but decided to list here too just in case.
