Well, here's the beginning of things. I feel that if I keep a blog of how my progress goes in trying to get together a group for Dungeons and Dragons and/or Star Wars Saga Edition goes, I will be far more inclined to keep active in the community here in the long term.
First up I guess is how I came to be here. I recently moved house with my parents out to the south liverpool area, western suburbs of sydney. The move took a bit of time to get settled in, as well all had full time jobs at the time. 2 days of moving, nearly 6 months of unpacking and we've still boxes around. A couple days ago I was digging through boxes I'd hidden under my bed so I didn't trip on them in the short term, and found several neatly packed piles of books for Dungeons and Dragons and the like. Release sets for 4e, some pre written adventures, dozens of old character sheets. It was a real nostalgia bomb.
Not long after, I was doing the rounds in town on a shopping trip, and picked up some more books on whim. Star Wars Saga Edition and Cthulhu Tech being prime examples, but filled in some gaps with my Pathfinder adventure collection as well.
My intention is to find players around the area, even if I have to travel a little, or corrupt people I meet now that I've settled in and have some more time on my hands, to the games and hobbies that I love. I would rather not run games anymore, as I was alway's roped into doing so before I moved and had to leave my old groups, and would much prefer to join an existing group or two as another new player, get a chance to learn these new systems and make some more great memories and stories for years to come.
Well, here's hoping I guess.
