Please add titles to all these blog posts. They are hard to read, because the are all named "rule of three". If I want to find an old post I have to go through all the posts.
With regards to question #2 and submissions, I don't know about everyone else, but if the new mechanics are weak, I don't even look at the story hook. Story hooks and themes in a vacuum can be forgettable. Stories come and go but mechanics are forever. I don't care how fantastic the story hook may be, I'm just going to take a good mechanic and reflavor it to suit my needs. That is how I role.
