After a long silence and observing undecided faces, Agis asks "Do you have any questions? There should be plenty of areas in which you can help. If you don't know where to start, your safest bet is to go to Jaseela's house in the noble quarters. She's had trouble convincing some vassals. Tell her guards you are friends of mine, that should get you an audience quickly. But again, as I mentioned, there are plenty of other places you can recuit from, like the Templars' ranks, who have been dragging their feet, or even the Merchant district where there has been some noise of late. Oh! And take these badges, they will get you recognized, as officials of the council, at least for those I the know of these matters". He hands you 5 badges. They are pretty basic but also peculiar and easy to recognize: they are oval and carved in obsidian with an arrow pointing up. A leather string allows you to were them as amulets.

Luusi takes the badge and looks it over, then tucks it into one of her pouches.  She gives Agis a long considering look before she speaks.  Her voice is calm, not betraying a hint of the annoyance that she feels in not being able to solve the problem without all the hoops to jump through.

"What we need to do is to convince them all of the threat that the sorcerer king poses.  'The enemy of my enemy is my friend', so to speak.  If we can get them all on the same crodlu, the trip to market would be much smoother."  She pulls a strand of her long, dark hair forward and twirls it around her finger, a quirk that she has had all her life when deep in thought.  "We might be able to start a chain reaction if we get the two groups together who have the least amount of friction between them.  Build the links from there by having their willingness to work together be an example to the other groups we need to get on board."

"It is true that Rikus has no love for Templars or Nobles. Styan's trustworthiness still has to be tested, he must certainly be uncomfortable with one of his former rivals, Tithian, running the City. As far as Jaseela is concerned, I trust her, but she can be a bit brash at times. One has to hope that they will work together in the face of adversity... But before we can even see how all three work together, the more immediate concern is to simply recruit more troops... And that's where you come into play."

"Gotcha." Zaffa takes the badge, examines it briefly and then starts to tie it around her neck. Glancing at the others, she asks, "So should we go 'head an' get started?"

"I have a feeling that the merchants may be difficult to convince since they no longer have slave labor to keep prices low. Of course, more freemen means more potential customers. This issa good angle...I will speak with them to see if they can be convinced so." Azimuth says rubbing his clawed thumb over the badge contemplatively before slipping it over his head and tucking it beneath his tunic.

Luusi nods in agreement with Zaffa.  The meeting seems to be at an end, and the quicker they were out gathering up more recruits, the sooner they could perhaps prevent the free city from falling again.  Her brow furrows slightly in aggitation.  I wish there was some way to just sneak into the bastard's bedchamber and end him.  It would be so much easier and quicker.

Seeing the group has made a decision, Iandak grimaces slightly.

Talk, talk, all they wish to do is talk.  I grow weary of bruising shop keepers and street rats.

Cracking his knuckles loudly, Iandak stands from against the wall, ready to move when the group does.

"Nakir Tiki-Tiki say first place we go to see Jaseela.  Nakir would see where nobles hide.  It would please Nakir to make those that owned slaves feel the weight of lost and angry spirits."  The halfling moved towards the exit, bits of bones and trophies rattling and rustling before turning to face Agis once more.  His yellow cat eyes glittered in the shadows of his face as he grinned his disconcerting grin and slipped the symbol on.

"Nakir warn you about he who be dragon but Nakir know that Agis have much wisdom.  Almost as much wisdom as halfling."

"Nakir Tiki-Tiki's got the right a' it." Zaffa stands and flips her hood back over her head. "We'll get t' work. Anythin' comes up, ye know how t' find us." She starts to turn away but pauses. Without looking at him, she says, "Take care a' yaself, Agis," and with that, she makes for the door.

Agis gives you directions to Jaseela's estate in the southern Noble Quarters. "Farewell friends, and good luck"

And so ends the secret meeting. Agis waits for you to leave the small house first to avoid being seen all at once. As you walk away, some of you turn back to peek, but you never see him leave the premises.

Maybe he has a secret exit or some spell or power to go invisible

You make your way out of the squalid area and into the much wealthier and luxurious mantions.

Tyr Map Show

These areas are also much safer and beggar free, as frequent Half-Giant security patrols keep the parasites away. Following Agis' intructions, you have no trouble finding Jaseela's property. There, at the big red wooden door, two well armed Half-Giants question you. Mentioning your name, role and especially the fact that Agis sent you, gets you an audience within minutes. It is enough time for you to admire the waiting area, a small inside court adorned with marble sculptures of a different era, and most inpressive of all, boasting a water fountain at its center. A few plants are also well kept here, the kind of plant you imagine would not survive a day in the desert without the attention of a gardener. This reminds you of how fragile life is on Athas, constantly hanging by a thread.

A dwarf -house slave- or rather house employee now, waves you into a long hallway then guides you to a large reception room. There you can admire more marble scuptures and tapestries as well as some more plants and dark wooden furniture.
Jaseela sits in a large wooden chair across the room. you stop a couple yards from her, somewhat hesitant to step on the beautiful rug there. But seeing that the dwarf does not hesitate to do so, you follow and stand there, waiting for her to speak.

"Welcome. As you probably guessed, I am Jaseela. Friends of Agis are friends of mine. I assume that you've heard of the news and the need to build an army. I am in charge of rallying the Nobles to the common cause of Tyr's defense. But as usual some are more courageous than others, and some always try to use these situations to further improve their relative wealth and power within the City. One might wonder what this wealth would be worth if we all get wiped out by the Lion but, I guess, some will still play these games. Anyway, I digress... What are your names and why did Agis send you here?"
