wait wait wait... He TELEPORTED next to the portal!?!  I was wondering how the other group managed to pry him away from the book and get him all the way through the portal to stop the ritual... Makes sense now though...

Yep. That's what the tactics in the module says to do. I think what's supposed to happen is that Kalarel's relying on the portal monster to drag you into it while the wight pushes you in with its recharge power. The wight attacked two of the other group while they were adjacent to the portal and I missed with both attacks.

Well, that was anti-climactic...  I didn't even get to use my encounter powers on him.  Well... Fantastic job Lorenz!  You've almost single-handedly ended the threat!  What do we do with the loot? I guess the Dagger is best on Eliza as she should be able to use it as an implement. Anyone else want to claim either the cloak or the helm? I could use either or both, Helm gives bonus damage to charge attacks, which I find myself doing more than I thought I would. And the Cloak gives a bonus to stealth which is probably best used by either me or Lorenz. If I get the cloak, then we have an Amulet of Health +1 which will need a new home. We should also consider what we want to spend our cash on, so the best answer to that is: Who has which magic items? And who needs magic items? Not counting the current treasures, Gyrdian has an Amulet of Health +1. Oh, and I suppose he has a Bag o' Holding as well. He could really go for some armor and/or a ki focus. Also, noted in the treasure list is a ritual book. Any rituals there we can claim, or just the dark evil ones we need to destroy?

I guess it was anti-climatic. But with a failed saving throw there's nothing I could do. I'm not one to fudge rolls.
I also could have done some hand waving and you were back at the village, but I prefer to rp some things out. There's the quest XP to gain once you're back at the village.
