Amy takes you down a hallway past a couple of closed doors and knocks on the last door on the left and opens it.  Father, there's a group here about one of the ads you put up.

Yes, yes.  Send them in.  Could you also be so kind to bring them some tea?  Thanks, dear.

Please have a seat.  My father will notice you shortly.  I'll be right back.

Inside the room is a desk, covered with scrolls, books, and parchment.  All of the walls are bookshelves, also completely filled.  There's also books and stuff, not so neatly piled around the desk.  In one corner of the room is a globe of the world.  In another is a large easel that has a half-finished floor plan of some old ruin.  In the center of the room is a couple of settees and chairs in a semicircle around a smaller table that seems remarkably free of paperwork.  Behind the desk sits a man probably in his late 30s reading a scroll rather intensely.  After a few moments he exclaims Aha!! and rushes over to the easel and starts to draw in the rest of the floor plan.

Cranewing looks up from his work.  Ah, yes.  That's right.  You came about my ad.  Just give me another couple of seconds here.  After acknowledging you, he goes back to work on the plan to put the finishing touches on it.  However, a couple of seconds is ending up more like five minutes.

Before Cranewing turns back to you Amy returns with everybody's tea and sets in on the table.  Here you go.  Sugar cubes are in the dish. she says as she pours everybody a cup.  Then she turns around and says in an exasperated tone, Dad!  Aren't you done with that yet?  Don't you know you have guests waiting?  If you keep them waiting any longer, I'll tell mom on you.

At the mention of his wife Cranewing blanches. Oh.  Ok.  Sorry about that.  I just needed to get one more detail in before I forget about it.  He goes to turn back to his project, but then sees his daughter glaring at him.

Unlikely. Amy mutters under her breath.

Well then.  Let's get to the details.  There's an old keep that's near Winterhaven.  It fell into ruin when the Nerath empire bit the dust a couple of hundred years ago.  I already have the floor plans of the upper floors of the keep, but it is the floor plans of the dungeons I'm interested in.  I also wouldn't mind if you found any old books about what happened to the keep after Nerath fell.  The going pay is 250 gp to your group plus any treasure you may find at the keep.  He then turns to Amy Amy, be a good girl and go get the contract.

Noticing Gyrdian rolling his eyes and slowly shaking his head, he correctly interprets what's going through his mind. This contract is to make sure I pay you upon the completion of the job.  Not the other way around.  I cannot be trusted to pay you without a contract.

He's right about that. Amy says as she spreads out the contract on the table.  Then she whispers to the group out of her dad's hearing.  You don't want to know what happened to my dad when he made his last oral contract and then when the contract was complete he declared that there wasn't any.  It wasn't due to any selfishness on his part, it was just that he truly and completely forgot that the contract ever existed.  Let's just say that we had to use his life's savings, plus selling some of his collection of books, to pay for the cost of the Raise Dead ritual.

No, only the group leader with the name of your group.  That way if the members of your group change, they will also be covered.  You should also sign three copies.  One will go with you, one will stay with me, and the other Amy will file someplace, I'm not sure where.

Amy just rolls her eyes.
