As Nadarr's sword passes by the soldier, the Dredge's dark energy latches onto the sword and is pulled away from the hobgob taking his life force with it. The soldier then takes a swing at Nadarr with his flail but failing miserably. S4 Mechanics

Still in shock over Gyrdian's display of strength against the spider, I cannot compose myself enough to properly target anything. I try to throw a spear of ice at the soldier in front of Nadarr, but miss as it hits the floor beside him. Actions

Gyrdian looks with satisfaction at the hobgoblin on the floor, and as he turns back towards the one trying to guard the way past, he is surprised to find him charging right past him and he can't get enough momentum for his attack to stop it. He curses at himself for not paying attention, but he hustles after the lone hobgoblin, determined not to let him get away. He stops just short of the pit, calling out You're not fast enough to get away from me! As the hobgoblin glances back over its shoulder, Gyrdian gets the chance he was hoping for. The hobgoblin stops running and turns fully around. Mesmerized by Gyrdian's gaze he walks back over to the well, and falls in, but he's already dead before he hits the bottom. Gyrdian calls back down the hall, These two won't be warning anyone. Hurry and finish off that one so we can be about our business.mechanics

Lorenz takes careful aim and fires one last shot at the remaining hobgoblin. He closed his eyes as the bolt sped away, unwilling to watch the demise of another intelligent creature. Sure, they were trying to kill them and had unleashed a monstrous spider (he had no regrets about killing the spider), but taking the life of another intelligent creature weighed on his soul.
