I may have an answer to Ekspery's question in IC! In 2e, ceramic coins are used in lieu of gold as metal is rare (they are equivalent to 1gp in vanilla D&D)... ceramic coins can also be cut into 1/10th and those are called bits (so worth 1sp)... maybe Four Bits comes from the cost of a drink or of a room at the inn in 2e :-) But I don't know the real answer, only guessing!

It occurs to me that I forgot to roll a Wild Talent. Assuming I can roll one now, 4: Mental Tools. Oh man, that one could be fun
Seriously, though, you should check out the PbP Haven. You might also like Real Adventures, IF you're cool. | Knights of W.T.F.- Silver Spur Winner | | 4enclave, a place where 4e fans can talk 4e in peace.

Sounds a bit overpowered indeed!!! I may have to nerf it and impose to have the raw materials to mentally carve the tools from, no?

Well, the power does say I can't use it to attack or hinder another creature, and you can only make one thing at a time, and it's not a permanent object. I don't see it being an issue. If we houserule that you have to have the raw materials on hand, I assume we'll also be switching it so that object is permanent?

Well if you had to use raw materials, I agree that they would need to be permanent... But I can also come up with overpowered uses for this tweaked version.
My concern was originally the following: if you can make tools out of thin air, then you could maybe create a key out of thin air or thief tools to break out of jail... This being said, with the tweaked version, if you can carve existing matter, it means you could just 'carve' a hole into restaining chains and make it even easier to escape.
I guess I will keep it as it is (i.e. "out of thin air") but just limit to simple tools... for instance they would have to be non-articulated, or in one piece and of limited dimensions... Also it's not because you can make a key that you would know the shape it needs to have to properly function with the lock you are trying to open.
Ah well, we will see as we go...

How about this: I promise I won't be a jerk. If I am a jerk, you can tell me and I will stop.

...I rolled mental tools also. Anyway, loving everyone's characters so far. Will be interesting to see how Tak-Tha gets along with the drunk to semi-drunk Half-Elf. Oh, and Tak-Tha will continue calling you "That One" until he has a name to go by. So far no one has given one but Ekspery.

I know right? It's a mistake I commonly see in PbP games... people don't give out their names when they meet for the first time because the names are made available to the players (not the characters)... nice roleplay Vsteel Now everyone be nice and polite and introduce each other properly
