Been gone a while.
Another forum I go to has a list of stuff like this. I'll go look and see if there's anything interesting from there I can contribute.

1. Neutral Stray Dog
The Stray Dog begins the game with no alliances. The stray dog joins the faction of the first person to mention the stray dog's name (aka the player's name) in a post. The stray dog is now connected to that player (they are both notified by email when the event occurs). If the dog's owner is targeted by a nightkill, both the dog and the killer will die, but the owner will live. The dog wins with the faction of his owner, but only if the owner is still alive.
2. Town Time Traveler
Each nightphase he activates his ability (lmit 2-3 per game), he is emailed the list of night actions that occurred the previous night. No names, just the actions. So the list may look like this:
Mafia NK Poison Protect Investigate Roleblock
He could then "go back in time" and undo one action that happened. The result, if any, would be posted as if it occurred the night he undid it. So if, on N3, he undid the Vig Kill from N2, the player would be posted as revived at the end on N3.
3. Town Puppeteer/Necromancer
Can revive someone during a nightphase. Everyone will be informed that the player was revived, and as far as the player knows, he was. The Pupeteer can, however, at any time, choose to kill him again, just not in the same night. So he potentially do this:
N1: Revive Player A N2: Kill Player A N3: Revive Player B N4: Kill Player B N5: Revive Player A again.
And so on.
4. Mafia Rat
Goal is to have all of the mafia killed and the town to win. During every two night phase, he can anonymously contact a town cop and relay information to him regarding one mafia member. BUT everytime he contacts someone, the mafia is told that there is a traitor amongst them. If all the town cops die, he cannot use this ability. The Rat cannot reveal the identity of anyone other than by using this method.
5. Town Summoner
Once every dayphase, the Summoner can revive one dead player by posting "##Summon: *inset player name*." The revived player can make exactly one post (in which he may vote, if he wishes), after which he is killed again. For instance, a summoned Cop may reveal what his results were, tell his suspicions, and vote for someone. After that post, he would be killed.
6. Town Lie Detector
Once per night, the TLD can quote one post that was posted during that day and send it to the mod. The mod will then, to the best of his/her ability, tell the TLD if the post is true or false
7. Town Zombie
When the Zombie is alive, his posts may only contain votes and unvotes. Upon his death, he may may no longer vote, but can post content. He is still considered dead
8. Town Genie
Once per night, the Genie can give a night action to another player to use. They tell the moderator what the action is and who to give it to. The action can be whatever the Genie can think up (investigation, revive, daykill for the next day) as long as the mod doesn't think it's too overpowered. The person receiving the role would get a PM from the mod saying 'A genie has granted you one (action) to be used on a player of your choice. As this is a very powerful role, the mod may want to put restrictions on how many of each type of actions can be given out.
9. Journalist: Once per night, can send the mod a message containing 100 words or less to be 'published' and read by everyone the next morning. The message is anonymous. If it contains more than 100 words, any additional characters are removed.
10. Self-Aligned Winner: Automatically wins the game. They don't even have to survive till the end, they already win. They even get a few powers just to troll the game with(like a roleblock, 2 nightkills, and a revive, for example).
I personally had a good experience with the Puppeteer once.

I love the Stray Dog. I had a variant of that one in one of the very first games I designed (Dungeon Keeper), back when we were still in the MPFG-forums.
Also, I fully agree with the mafia MVP... JaC is too damn hard to catch as scum. Even when I started being sure he was scum, I was not sure and had to invent some plans to fish for reactions... which he would have probably passed and I would have had nothing to use against him...
Oh yes, JaC's a genius at this.
