This could prove useful with force claims at L-1.

Or that's not popular with you guys around here? Sorry, never played mafia here before, used to play on Mafiascum.

If it comes about under the natural course of the game, I'll be happy to. If you decide to start pushing everyone to L-1 one after another just to get everyone to claim, or if it comes to a mass claim, don't count on me playing along with that. That would be seriously unbalanced in Town's favor and I'm not here to help Town. I'm not here to help Mafia either, but I'm not going to simply hand the game to the Town.

EBWOP: Actually, let me retract that last post and say the following instead...

I will happily confirm or deny any role information that is freely given. I will not confirm or deny any information that is given under duress, such as from being at L-2 or L-1 or from a mass claim.

I simply don't feel comfortable with the L-1 scenario. I think that would unfairly benefit Town.

Furthermore, I won't confirm or deny any information given in a mass claim, whether it is freely given or not. And let me just say right now, I will not confirm any alignments given, period.

In fact, I'm wondering whether it was a good idea for Tevish to agree to let me confirm revealed info in the first place. I'm starting to see far too many ways Town might take advantage of it and none for Mafia. I don't want to lie, but answering truthfully even in the most innocuous example is looking more and more favorable to Town and detrimental to Mafia. I want a balanced game.

More specifically, I don't want to find myself being the cause for one side or the other to win. There's nothing preventing me from doing so in my role PM or the conversations I've had with the Mod. But I won't feel right if I do something like that.
I'm just a Pigment of your imagination.

To FFP... Thank you. One of my objectives is now met.

I guess when you read my role, you had little doubt that I would act upon it. ^^

btw, unfortunately, I'm only a one-shot-vig (either day or night, during night, no protection would have worked against me because I'm such a fast drawer)

We need some ball rollage. Thusly, I propose a Pere lynch. Why you ask? Because of his response to Ahl. Immediately after Ahl claims to be something along the lines of "Mod Aligned", Pere questions why Ahl didn't say he was town. Then asks Ahl to immediately start giving up scum, which would undoubtedly get Ahl modkilled. In my perview, Pere is scum (read as non-town afraid of what Ahl might bring down on him) trying to discredit/smudge Ahl's rep while trying to seem townly doing so. Discuss.

seems legit
official vote: pere

Not sold on pere, really.  I mean, I appreciate Jay's kickstart, but Peregrine has posted far too little for me to actually consider him scummy.

That being said, I would love to get a response from 'em.

JD - you make a good case for Pere to if not be scum, at least have some other ulterior motives involving Ahlyis. I'd like to hear more from him and others before casting a vote though.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't Vig on a mafia generally considered OP even if it is just a one time use? I think that points to FFP likely being town or self-aligned.

The Ahlyis "mechanic" is interesting, but at the end of the day it's still mafia and we should be doing our best scum-hunting instead of focusing so much attention on his role.

I'm not self-aligned or some other obscure alignment. I'm town or mafia.

@ari, its not terribly unheard of for mafia to have an extra one time kill. That would likely be set off by a draw back for that specific role, (such as having to kill a specific player, possibly even on the scum team) or off set by extra power on the town's side. With the admission of the pattern alignment having to win with the town, I think this is not an extreme leap of logic since they will likely need more power to achieve their ends.

Until rereading things, I'd forgotten that Rubik also claimed Pattern-aligned.  I'd gotten caught up by FFP's preemptive surprise.

Anyways, I'm not sure about the whole Pere/Ahl thing, Pere seemed more generally curious to me than anything.  I will note JD that you also seemed to start being interested in what kinds of things you could work out with Ahl, albeit more subtly.  It does look a bit like you're trying to play Ahl's role for him/her.  You've openly suggested that Ahl collude with you in private (though I'm not aware of anything saying that we can talk to Ahl out of game) and suggested that Ahl refrain from scum hunting.  I mean, you've been nice about it all, so I might be misunderstanding.

But, it's still early, and I'd like to keep hearing from more people -- town is always in a better place the more we all talk.
