Ahl, you be too harsh. Iirc, most of the disappointment of turbine lie in the lack of interthread interaction. Clearly that's not going to be a factor in a game with one thread. Plus I need more people for my battle of wits. Don't you want to go up against a scillian when death is on the line? D:

Most of MY disappointment was with the promise of great flavor when we voted for the game and the almost complete lack of flavor in the actual game.
Iirc, FFP's disappointment came mostly because it was two 8 player games instead of one 16 player game, for the most part.
Others had other reasons for disappointment. But I don't remember anyone raving about how great the game was.
It's nothing personal against Febb. I like him fine as a player. But Project Turbine doesn't inspire me to want to see him run another game, or to join it since he is.

Look at it this way: We're being promised a game with no real flavor and a specific player count this time. So, you know exactly what you're getting into, at least.

Frankly you can say its nothing personal all you want, but when you come into a man's sign up thread with no intention of signing up and begin to berate his last GO adventure, it's kinda personal. You don't want to play, cool. There's no reason to come in and try to discourage others from playing though. Turbine was turbine. WIFOM is WIFOM. I once thought about designing a mafia game where every role was kinda redundant, a naive cop, a tracker that can't track because everyone else is a ninja, a doc-blocker with no doc around and so on. I wanted to call it WIFOM mafia or mafia mafia (hinting at the game outthinking the player or hinting at the redundancy) in the end, I thought it would just be a frustrating game

1) Okay, you're right. It is somewhat personal. I don't believe Febb is an approrpiate choice to host a game on this site when this site is already almost dead from lack of participation. I have nothing against him as a player. He can get himself forcibly replaced/modkilled for inactivity however much he wants there.
2) I wasn't trying to discourage others from playing, though I recognize that could be a side product. I was trying to "complain" about Febb being handed a second game in a row, especially after the disappointment of his first, on multiple levels.
3) And both suffer from inattention from the mod. Turbine barely got enough attention to run, but was lacking any sort of Mod oversight to keep it running smoothly or provide the flavor that was promised. WIFOM is suffering so badly that, despite having had enough players to fire for nearly 2 weeks now, it is still sitting in signups with not a peep from Febb.
Even if he were to come in and fire it off right now, is there any reason to think he'll suddenly become an attentive Mod, handling his game in a timely manner?
And before you tell me to shut up because it doesn't concern me since I chose not to play anyway, it DOES concern me. I'm waiting for the next game and THAT game won't even go into signups until this one is done, which at this point may be never!

As for me running the game, I can be ready, but is Schizo really next? I'll be happy to run it, but I didn't complain about Febb because I wanted to jump line or anything.
Under the assumption that Schizo is up next, there are 3 things that need addressed...
1) I'll need to know what size we'll be running for. The game can be balanced for any size 8 and up, but I do need to know what size we're aiming for. I originally planned for 16 and revamped for 12 during one of the changes here, but whatever size is decided on, I'll check the design over and adjust accordingly.
2) I'll need a couple of days to finalize any updates, though that can be done while signups are underway if nobody objects. It's not hard to do, it just takes a little time. If you want the game to get another review once I've tweaked the roles for whatever size is decided upon, you'll also have to decide whether you want to hold up signups for that too.
3) I may need a BuM. I'm fine with running it without a BuM, but am also fine if someone wants to volunteer for it. If a BuM is going to be required, then that too is up to you whether to let signups begin before one is found or not. I believe Silly was the BuM of record last time anyone asked, but that has been a while and I don't think Silly is even active any more.

Again, sorry for the disappearence. I am officially back from the two weeks I was away at a funeral thingy. I will be gone in another couple of weeks, so I agree with the decision to shelve WIFOM.
